it is so weird to know that after each cut, you got your camera, placed it somewhere else and acted like you were just casually walking towards your kitchen XD

i'm a senior watching this in 2020, waiting for all my college decisions to come back.... watching this and reading the comments made me feel so much better. and look where conan is now :) it all works out

I didn't get accepted to any college my senior year of high school and was obviously really sad about it, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I ended up going to community college for two years before transferring to a university. During those two years I had the time to grow both mentally and academically and learn more about myself and was way more prepared for the stresses of college life than I would've been had I gone straight out of high school. Most importantly, I saved a shit ton of money (2 years worth of tuition!!!) by going to community college first. I am currently a senior at UC Berkeley who is about to graduate in a little over a month. I hope you get off the waitlist, but I also want you know that there are different paths to reach your goal if one is blocked.

I remember getting into my dream (art) school two years ago, when I basically didn't even have the right degrees/education to get in as I got ill very bad when I went to the previous schools, a tumor in my back to be exact. Everything has been bad for so long and this school made everything so much better and I finally feel happy again. Wishing you all the best Conan! ♡

Found this online, don't know if it helps: Contact the admission office to find out if the college ranks wait-listed students or if it has a priority list. Most are willing to let you know your status. The higher you rank on the list the better your chances of being accepted.

Ya'll Senior Year is really wild and confusing and hard. You feel like your in a tunnel all of high school and then Senior Year you finally get to see the light at the end of that tunnel. Then it's all rushing towards you and you don't feel ready or prepared for what's out there at all. But you keep moving forward because it's impossible to stop whats coming. You work with your anxiety and focus on harnessing it so that when you leave the tunnel you can feel at least a little more confident that everything will work out in it's own way. Always keep in mind that life never works out the way you expect it to, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work out. Mad love and respect our there for everyone who's growing up and trying to find their space in this world.

Hey kid just want to tell you that a few years ago I got wait listed at DARTMOUTH of all places....and then later got in! You got this. It CAN happen. As a former waitlistee AND college counselor, here's some advice: Don't just wait around, be active. Contact the dean of whatever college you'd be put in, try to set up a meeting with faculty you like, get in touch with department heads. Talk to your HS counselor and teachers and ask them what you can do and ask them to send additional recommendations. Ask around if they know any faculty at the college. (This will go farther than anything else!) Put together additional portfolio materials and get them in front of faculty eyeballs. Be ruthless, but polite! You got this!

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT Please read this ... as a 21 year old that 4 years ago had delt with the same issues with my own hard ass school to get into I have some advice for how you can STILL get into your school. This will sound bizarre but hear me out ... HARRASS them ... not like literally tho lol. Call up the admissions office tell them you're very excited to be on the waitlist and are ready to prove yourself to show your a fit for the school. Tell them the work you are doing now that you haven't started to slack bc you're graduating . Email your potential school dean and tell them how excited you are to be a potential student what classes you wanna take. professors LOVE their ego stroked talk about their own accolades and how they inspire you for your own future career. Conan, as a peaceful person myself I love your calming personallity but this isn't the time for pacifism. You gotta STAND OUT from your peers make the admissions office know your name. when it comes to big popular schools like ucla... its survival of the fittest honey. Most waitlist kids are gonna sit back and go 'wtvr if I get in I get in I guess' DO NOT DO THIS . That's how I got into my bougie school and my friend as well. Either way Conan... I'm very excited to see your potential grow from this moment in time because it really is a character building moment and trust and beileive ... this is a blip in time I remember being 18 like it was 1836394917 years ago you'll change so much as you trasition into adulthood and I am very excited for you keep up the excellent work 💋

hey conan! i commented on your AP art portfolio video, it was the first one i'd seen of yours and i've continued watching since. i just wanted to tell you, you have a great outlook on this. i'll be 27 this year, meaning all of the stuff you're going through happened to me 9-10 years ago but i remember it so clearly. i ended up going to a small local school that no one in my town wanted to go to because it was "too close" and they thought it was a bad school. they had a great art program and they gave me a full scholarship and, seeing as it was the only school i applied to, i obviously accepted and went. turned out to be the greatest few years of my life. i got to study abroad in china and italy with the money i saved on tuition since i had the scholarship, and i found an internship through the school that eventually sent me to india for a few weeks to work on a documentary film about an artist i worked closely with for the internship (she is indian but living in the states). i was recognized with the faculty because i worked hard curating student shows, was the president of the Student Art Association, etc. They picked me for faculty awarded grants and always called me up first for opportunities because they knew i could commit to something and see it through. i kept up my connections and decided i wanted to study painting in china, and now i'm here in china getting my MFA on another full scholarship because of my hard work and the people who could vouch for me. and you know what happened? when i was still an undergrad, SO many people i had graduated high school with and who had looked down on me for going to the local university ended up at that same school with me after transferring out of wherever they had gone. for some of them they missed being home, others couldn't afford the tuitions of their big schools, and still others finally saw that their big, dream, party school wasn't all it was cracked up to be. an education is an education, and you get out what YOU put in. no matter where you go, you will do great and make great memories and opportunities for yourself because that's who you are. that's who i am, too. like i said, you have a great outlook but if you have any doubts, just know that you WILL do so well, and everyone will be so proud of you. i don't even know you and i'm proud of you! a few months from now when you're settled in to your next step in your education, this won't be a big deal anymore. life happens THAT fast.

to everyone out there: regardless of any decisions, just know you're a hardworking, successful, creative human who doesn't need validation from a handful of admissions officers. that's what helped me before hearing back from my colleges.

I was rejected from my dream school --- NYU , but everything happens for a reason. I wanted to live and work in nyc, luckily I found an amazing internship so I have been working there for almost a year and after my undergrad I will hopefully be going to grad school in nyc. It's working out for me and whatever happens Conan, you're an immensely intelligent, creative, hardworking, driven guy who I know won't let anything get in your way or stopping you from achieving your dreams!! I wish the best of luck in your life and career!

I got rejected from my dream school 3 years ago from now. I am currently studying in a school that I never expected I'd be in and my god did it change me into an a different person. I am very thankful that it happened because nothing amounts to the amazing experiences I had in my current school. Good luck to you all, beautiful people.

Conan- I know you may not see this, but I'm one of those viewers that's in their senior year and was waiting on college acceptances. You are so awesome and such a strong person, it is SO difficult to wait for those responses- I was a literal ball of stress for three days before I got my response to my top choice (Boston University's Fine Arts program) and I have to tell you I am so impressed with your control of emotion. It was so hard for me, and I was a complete mess, so seeing you hold it together so well and be so brave to post these emotional moments here on RU-vid for all of us to see... You truly are a role model, and the way you wear your heart on your sleeve is such an admirable and honest quality. We're all keeping our fingers crossed for you Cone :)

it's not the end of the world if you don't get into your dream school because there will be other opportunities waiting for you. being at your dream school doesn't mean you will have a great experience... i got into one of the top unis around and i wasnt happy there either. everything you imagine now is just an ideal but you don't know what the reality will look like anyway. just keep in your mind that everything will be ok no matter what school you go to :)

its ok to be waitlisted by ucla, it's the most applied school in the nation, even the people that eventually get into harvard applied to ucla, so they must have their priorities, the pool of applicants for ucla is extremely tough, the fact that you've been waitlisted is amazing, it means that they've given you careful consideration and really liked you. but in the end even if you don't get in, know that it's ok, college doesn't define who you are or who you will be in the future, maybe not going there means that it's just not for you. no matter where you end up, it's going to be the perfect plan

When I came out of school I applied to so many Universitys (I'm from germany) and I got waitlisted or even rejected almost everywhere. I was so sad thinking I wasn't good enough even thought I gave my best. And then I got off the waitlists like a week befor the classes started and was accepted at so many Schools, but my dream school rejected me. I'm now studying for almost four years at another university that I got accepted into and I couldn't be happier. I fit in here so well and being rejected from my dream school was honestly the best that could have happen to me. I know that in the moment you find out it is frustrating but there are other school that are nice, too. I hope that you don't have to wait too long and I wish you will get off that waitlist and be accepted, you worked so hard!

I felt really bad at different times in the last few months and I had no motivation to go after what I loved even in quarantine. but seeing Conan's life, his vlogs, his world and how his creativity and affection enchants I took motivation out of my heart to be part of who I am again. today is my dream school decision. I remember watching this video my freshman year, it's crazy to think I've made it until now. I miss Conan's vlogs, but I'm also glad he is so successful now. he deserves it. all the feelings he talks about in this video are so real

I'm currently in my first year of university - 2 weeks in. I can totally relate to this video and the stressfulness while waiting. In Australia we take a huge exam when we graduate high school, and whatever mark you get pretty much determines whether you can get into the course in a uni or not. - mine was... pretty awful... and the waiting for offers from universities was rather stressful. i, luckily, had enough bonus points to get me into the course and the uni i wanted to study in. But there are like tons of pathways - like conan said - gap year, tafe, diploma courses (many people go for diploma/insearch), study in a uni then transfer in second year. like there are sooo many waysss. no need to worry too much. also, just want to say, there's no rush. it's never too late for education, take your time. And university of course isn't the only source of education. Good luck people!

I finished high school last year (primary school is 8 years and high school 6 here in the netherlands) now I'm on a gap year and I've been travelling a bit and just working in my own creative things like writing and drawing! I'm also waiting to find out any minute if I got into my dream college so this video couldn't come at a better time! I'm planning on getting a bachelor degree in liberal arts and sciences with a focus on cognition and then do a master in psychology! I'm really excited

Our school does a pre-engineering program through a tech school and I got waitlisted two years in a row which was quite heartbreaking. thank you Conan for sharing your experience, especially when you said that we will all find our place and asked us about our plans... I must admit that I got a little teary eyed. Truth is... I seriously don't have any plans on what I could do after school. I'm in my last year now and I just kind of aimlessly walk around with no sense of what to do, how to feel, how to think, how to be, how to... I don't know. Everything seems so distant and unreal. Maybe I should take a gap year, but even that decision makes me feel unsure. Our System here in germany is a bit different from yours, universities are mostly free and you don't really apply for them with tons of essays like you did, Conan. I admire all your hard work and effort, it really keeps me going. I can also 100% relate to your situation of leaving high school, your song idle town really reminds me of my own little town I live in. Anyways, these were just some thoughts and I'm sorry to all native english speakers for any mistakes I made :D

This video bought me back to the first time I applied to college. It was the most nervewracking couple of months of my life! Just know, anything you are given has been put there for a reason. No matter where you end up going, know that it will always be an opportunity to learn and grow. I didn't even end up staying at the first college I applied to, I was forced to transfer my senior year due to financial issues. I'm now back home, finishing off my senior year, and still so grateful at the opportunities I was given. I grew so much as a human being, and I wouldn't have traded those life lessons for anything. You got this Conan!! I strongly believe the Universe is just waiting to present you with so many opportunities!!

I find this video to be comforting, on a platform where a lot of the contents are mostly over-edited (not necessarily a bad thing), raw emotions that conan presents in this video is definitely a breath of fresh air. To see how real everything was, to see how he feels nervous yet still trying to be positive (not fake-positive), it just comforts me to be able to see how people also struggles, it makes me feel better to know how i'm not the only one who wanders, feeling nervous not knowing what my future will be. I can't say i can relate because i'm still a freshman but i know i overthink about my college application even when i still have two years to figure out everything, this video just help me realize that yes college application is kind of a big deal but the world isn't going to end if i fail. I'm trying to learn how to live more in the moment and stop worrying too much about the future and just let life takes me by surprise once in a while

don't worry conan! i know exactly how u feel. i'm a ballerina and last year i auditioned for different summer intensives, some being my dream schools. summer intensives are so so important and can decide your entire career so it was really hard for me when i was rejected from pretty much most of them. it sucked. like a lot. to the point where i wanted to quit because all my dreams were pretty much shattered. but everything happens for a reason. i ended up auditioning for a school i never considered and was placed in the highest level and had the BEST time of my life! so don't give up, and stay strong ♡

about a year ago, I got into a very good school quite far away from where I live. I just couldn't go because the fees were too much. I had to go to my local public school and I have been there to this day. its not the best, but I have made some close friends and my classes are ok. but I got my grades today and they weren't as good as last semester. I realise now from this video that no matter what school you go to, you are lucky to be there and therefore you have to make the most of it. next semester, I am going to try my hardest and make the most of high school, and I encourage anyone here too as well.

As someone who has gone through this already, it's nice to see someone feel the same was as I did. It's only been 3 years but it's a nice reminder of how much I've grown and changed since high school. No matter what happens, you'll be okay and it's good that you know that it won't be the end of the world. Whether you get in or not, the next few years of your life will be an incredible time of growth and discovery, and you don't need school to go through those things :) Good luck Conan!

I am so so proud of you! I also applied to UCLA and I got rejected which I'm totally okay with. Honestly I don't feel that my application was even any good HOWEVER I got into Merced and waitlisted for Davis so I kinda get what your going through. But anyways I hope they give you a spot, cus I know you worked your ass off and if they still don't give you a spot at least you can say that you truly tried your best and gave it your all Best of luck to you Conan!

There are no words to explain the comfort Conan gives me. I'm a junior in high school and im super anxious and I don't know what i want to major in i love art and music but I like so many other things and I'm just in a very stationary state with no place to go and Conan is slowly making me feel okay and showing me how to take baby steps and accepts my ups and downs
