They really just threw him into the presidency right in front of a pissed off anarchist Technoblade while standing on a pile of TNT with Wilbur's finger on the button. Then as proud president of a crater. His VP was a chaotic problem child and his "Sexy-tary of State" was fueled by vengeance and ambition. Tubbo was no cut out for that shit. In the end, however, Tubbo was arguably more tyrannical than JSchlatt. - He came into power during a coup, - Unilaterally banished his vice president, - Sent a military force to capture and execute someone publicly without trial, - Ransacked a resident's house without any due process for the crime of knowing the wrong person, - Planned to assassinate a foreign leader after inviting them to a peaceful celebration. If you look at JSchlatt's execution of Tubbo, you'll note the Tubbo was actively aiding in a treasonous plot vs the democratically elected government, even building a tunnel system for them. Heck, right before his execution, he spoke the code phrase to tell Wilbur to blow up L'Manberg, presumably killing Technoblade and any other Pogtopia sympathizers in the crowd.

well, the thing about pawns is that, if they make it to the end of the board, they have the chance to become something much stronger; but for tubbo, i think i'll say that he was the playing board. folded up and forgotten about, serving no use but to mark where you've been or will go. ignore me trying to sound smart i just wanted to say my theory lol

It’s also like the weakest and thinnest layer of the earth. It’s honestly a really well written song. Miranda tends to have really good lyrics in most of his work.

Ill rephrase it a bit better here just for clarifications sake. o-o I'm not so much as saying that Tubbos story is unsung but that the reality of everything hes been through, and how it effects him mentally, is not something that is as widely portrayed through out the commuinity in contrast to other characters (Such as Tommy's very prominent fear of Dream and how he works to overcome it). In all fairness his character is very head strong and chooses to brush off his own problems in favor of protecting his family and being there for his friends so its hard to spot these aspects of him without actually intentionally looking for them.

@@braydenscott5672 That's true too, I feel like lot's of c!Tubbo's trauma was neglected a bit in the fandom. As c!Tommy said when he thought that c!Tubbo was about to get killed by c!Dream, c!Tubbo wasn't just a side kick, he had a full fleshed out story. I think that's what I really like about the DSMP, everyone has an interesting story to tell and they're all connected in a way. +Respect for c!Tubbo

@@ihopeiturnintoaslinky I think it's the other way around. tommy's got more tragic moments such as exile, temporarily killed, and being told tubbo was going to die, but tubbo's story was more traumatic because he was forced, as president, to exile his best friend, his other best friend(ranboo) was killed and imprisoned, he was originally going to be executed, and dream told him that he was just a pawn all along and said he was going to kill him. there was also a moment where he thought Tommy had died so he basically lost everyone closest to him since ranboo was in prison, I think, I'm not sure

Yeah bro Idk much lore abt DreamSMP but I DO KNOW that Tubbo was once president of L'manburg and Tommy tried to pull him outta it bc he was against the government Tubbo was stuck between the thing he wanted and the thing he always had and couldn't let go The role as president and Tommy But the part that made me sad was when they were in Dreams vault What would I be without you Yourself That will always be stuck in my head for no reason (BTW this is from the lore I understood so no hate plz)

The funny thing is that Schlatt's first big crime was unilaterally exiling people against the desires of any advisors for political reasons. Sound familiar? Another crime? Sentencing a traitor to death without trial. Heck Tubbo was actively aiding a coup while Technoblade was living peacefully far from civilization. Tubbo "buckled" and "bent" by violating civil rights. Schlatt seemed like more of an asshole about it, destroying almost sacred symbols, but what serious crimes did he do that Tubbo didn't?

While he did suffer outside political pressure, his decision was ultimately the declaration of a dictator over the popular will. Tubbo's regime was not democratic, nor did it protect civil rights of the citizenry. You don't get a fair trial in Tubbo's L'Manberg, and if you get a any trial, the president is under no obligation to respect its ruling. He came into power through a coup and despite claiming that there would be an election in the future, he did not have any check on his power.

I saw someone do a deep dive into Dream's character and how all he wants is peace, so he became the villain in the story to try and make that happen. To unite the server like it once was. Before l'manberg and before the wars. It really opened my eyes. Bc I couldn't understand the why of it. Why he seemed to suddenly change, why he seemed so hellbent on control. Now I do though.

I agree with you on the not liking animatic that much but Yooooo this Fandom somehow has the highest qualities in animatics 😭😭😭 like some of them can pass as professional storyboards for a full length animation. Everyone is incredible! This is mainly why I'm still here, the art community of Dreamsmp amazes me every single day

Oh yeah, if you left a year ago then there defiently has been lots for him since then. I used to not actually like Tubbos character simply because it seems like cc!Tubbo didn't have that much interest in role-playing/devolping his character. I felt that c!Tubbo has SO MUCH potential. And we finally got to see it within the last few months/year (thanks to Wilbur lol)

I feel this, I stopped watching dreamsmp at the beginning of the summer bc I felt that I was getting too emotionally affected by it. Surprise surprise, I see this animatic and although I’m not familiar with the ending stuff, I can still appreciate how well the lyrics match up with story beats. I’ve always felt that Tommy giving tubbo the presidency was him literally giving the responsibility he didn’t want to someone else, so it being lined up with the lyric “give her all the heavy things we can’t shoulder” was incredibly poignant, etc etc

Not to be pushy but I feel you should at least watch a bit of the dream SMP and you'll get some of the references especially the ending? (or if you want me to explain what happened in the ending of the animatic)

I know only the scratched surface since I got into it so late, but I agree. The animatic gives a good idea as to what happened and how it's affecting C!Tubbo.

DONT GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE, THERES NO WAY BACK /j Dsmp fanbase is full of great artists/musicians/cosplayers/etc :D only problem is that theres a lot of stuff you have to know to fully understand the lore behind it

There is a lot of comedy in the middle of the heavy stuff. For example: When president Tubbo and the Butcher Army was carrying Technoblade back to L'Manberg for trial (really just execution without trial), Techno rated the kidnapping 2 stars and Tubbo was begging for him to give him a better rating the whole way back.

Let's not even add on the pressures of having and raising a kid. Like, it may be one of your happiest moments, but that is insanity all on it's own.
