In many series and continuities, Starscream is 1000% the kind of drama queen who'd do an entire a$$ musical number before killing someone purely for $h!ts and giggles, & I love that take on him and i think it definitely works, but I'm also a sucker for secondary villains getting redemption arcs, which is why in my AU, Starscream's story is a bit more tragic. Not deathly so, but tragic all the same. Usually Megatron is abusive to Starscream for trying to overthrow him, but in my AU, it's the other way round. Scream tries to dethrone Megs BECAUSE he's abusive not just to him, but also to several of the other 'Cons, including Thundercracker, Skywarp, & Slipstream, who in my AU are all Starscream's siblings. Scream & his Sibs joined the 'cons when it was a revolution to overturn Cybertron's caste system, but as time wore on and the 'Con's original cause was lost in Megatron's Warmongering, Starscream and his siblings became disillusioned to what the Decepticons were becoming. This leads them to repeatedly conspire together to overthrow Megatron, but due to the Cunning and Savage might of the Lord of the Decepticons, their plots would fall through. Starscream would take all the responsibility for every attempted Coup -and as such, all of Megatron's wrathful attention - onto himself in order to protect his siblings. All four of them have considered deserting the Decepticons, or even Defecting to the Autobots, but deserters are promptly hunted down by the Tarn & the DJD, and those who attempt to Defect to the Autobots almost always wind up being terminated by Lord Megatron Personally, and as siblings they care about each other too much to take that risk. So, in short, Starscream in my AU is a tragic anti-hero who essentially volunteers himself as Megatron's punching bag in the wake of his & his siblings' various attempted Coups in order to protect the other seekers from any direct harm, basically using himself as a human shield for his siblings against The Decepticon Lord's Wrath, and Megatron in my AU is a Cruel, Cunning, and Savage Tyrant with a brutal and abusive leadership style.
I'm not even much of a transformers fan (my friend is super into it so I know a lot about it) and even so THIS is one of if not THE best animatics i've ever seen and I can't stop watching it. U are i n s a n e l y talented! (Btw I would sell my vital organs for starscream I am not joking)
I'm saying this without haying seen the fanfic because I don't need another heartbreak (this work is amazing, the looks on their faces were drawn spectacularly, I could cry from the sheer dramatical weight of this little animatic! 😭): Honestly, with how Donnie is in the ROTTMNT world, I expected him to plant a strong bomb into his head, maybe into one of his teeth so when he bites down on it, his head would explode and even the krang leaning close to him might get injured. I know it's brutal but I fully expected him to rather turn himself into a Hamato ghost on a quick self-sacrificing way to protect his family. Not that his mental resistance isn't awesome, I just thought he would make a contingency plan in case the worst would happen to him - being captured alive with the possibility of having his brain used against his family. I think he'd rather die than to let that happen, but only the Rise Donnie would be hardcore enough for this probably. 😅 Also, imagine if the fanfic had his death on such a brutal way! That would've added a lot of weight and shock value to the story.
Im still crying every time a see something that says he died people say it was two years ago get over it and i have breakdowns every time someone says that I was crying during this😢
