I have 3 consoles and one kinda works. Also have the Sega swirl inked on my shoulder. Played Quake 3 online and still need to go back and finish Sword of the Berserk.
Nice! Dreamcast had so many good games… and they had reasonable support to! A shame it ended as it did. And the swirl is deff top 5 logos. Thanks for sharing 💪🏾
The Dreamcast didnt come after the Genesis… It came after the Sega Saturn, which was a failure. But yea it was ahead of its time. Online gaming in 1999 is insane.
If only Sega didn't fucked up before the dreamcast One of the reason why the Dreamcast failed is the previous mistakes that push third parties away from the company and the reputation that follow Despite having a great console ready to pick on Nintendo and Sony it was too late and they lack of money to continu the fight I remember I was stuned to learn they throwed the towel and sell the console cheaper than a walkman It was like what?! Already?! Less than 2 years! I wish Sega was there today as a console company
Man that’s great insight, I regret not including the Saturn, but I will try and get a video on the Saturn eventually. I personally remembered loving the Dreamcast, once I saw the sonic adventure trailer on the board walk I was sold. Not to mention Virtual Tennis! The unique approach towards console making that Sega possessed was right up there with Nintendo! Let’s keep hope alive maybe if the movie business works enough, they can start making hardware again 🙏🏾
I deff can agree with that, honestly I always felt the Dreamcast was a bit more arcade based and vibrant than the ps1… perhaps it had to do with the color processing? I wish I knew more about the tech stuff!
If Sega had not lost the trust and loyalty of their fan base with the 32x / Sega CD and the the Saturn, the dreamcast would have dominated and Sega would likely still be making hardware today. They probably could have survived the 32x / Sega CD fiasco, but following it up with the Saturn was just a bad move. Imagine spending over 1,000 bucks in 1994 to have a Frankenstein console that requires 3 Power supplies and still can't compete with the SNES. The Dreamcast was a masterpiece of hardware... it's to bad nobody bought it
Those are some great points! I agree that the Dreamcast was amazing, great games in that library! Your point about the loss of trust is a very interesting one. Perhaps they worried too much about the snes smh. Thanks for your input!
Thier's an few more thing's eventhough it had to be booted up by the game disk Windows CE was big deal. Do to the time i'm sure that if it had DVD-Video Support it may have done better. I know the Mil-CD loophole hart it's time on the market but that is why it sill gets new games today. The Gaming Histiron's video on sony vs eumlation forgot that The Mil-CD loophole was how Bleemcast worked. So he realy needed to small video on the Mil-CD before he relessed that long form video to help everyone understand why it worked. In fact No Blu-ray was partly why I got beeped off at my Nintendo Fan Boy bro for buying me an Wii; with him knowing I whated an PS3.
