Since I don’t see it the comments. A little fun fact. In Full Moon when JiU starts to sing and the members are holding hands while they walk forward that is how they entered HappyFace Entertainment Company.
When i first discovered Dreamcatcher i thought: "Cool! Korean Babymetal! I love it!" But after a few more songs it became clear that Dreamcatcher is very much it's own thing and more k-pop than J-rock/metal. And that's fine, they have their own distinct identity and i love it. ❤ However i also sometimes get the impression that Ponycanyon didn't quite get that memo and just made the Japanese songs for Dreamcatcher more and more Babymetal each time🤣
@@beyzaxxi I hope they redo it, that will be awesome! Obviously they have to change the song or split the vocals more ways and the gun could have been a full six-shooter instead of only having five chambers. Or maybe they figured it won't be worth it because Kings Raid also has to agree to changing it to accommodate Dongie. That may be why they have not redone it yet. It will also be different if JiU does not have Blue or Purple hair if they re-do performance (but obviously that's the least important thing here, since they did SO well at redoing Red Sun for the White Blood version).
@@jamescurfman3284 even we make a theory it’s so exciting!! maybe dongie will be the main villain or opposite of all our thoughts, idk but i hope they will redone it and i’m really curious about the fiction. (btw jiu slayed the both of those hair colors isn’t she??)
Rose Blue is one those perfectly made video and a beautiful song. That part where Gahyeon reaching out with a look of relief and a sweet smile to Jiu always gets to me. Damn Onions!😢 Dreamcatcher is the DREAM. 🤘🥰🤘
I am pretty sure that JiU already has sacrificed herself, little pieces at a time for each of them. She really shoulders a lot of responsibility. The members know that, though. They love her even more than we do. :)
Lmaooooooo I didn't know about Be The Future, but the fact that they decided to make a cute bop for the pandemic is....I honestly have no idea? 🤣😂🤣 That took me out. No More is part of their Eclipse album - which, Eclipse is their Anime opening that they did (it should be on your single list if it's not.... Or maybe you reacted to it already, I honestly have no idea anymore, hahaha I've seen all of your videos at this point and props to you bc it's a lot). It does go hard tho. Their Japanese stuff goes a lot harder. Rose Blue makes me cry every time dude, they all act wonderfully, but JiU is just next level acting & fascial expressions. One of my favorite comments under that video somewhere is something like "Everyone: trapped in bad dreams, Dami: I'M RICH!" 😂🤣😂 If you look at the lyrics of Rose Blue, they're 😭😭😭 so good. You are correct, at the beginning of the MV, she was in the real world and they were trapped in a dream world. She takes the gun and touches the crystal to get into where they all are. She has to shoot them in their dreams to wake them up in the real world. She only had 5 bullets, so by shooting the rest of them to wake them up, she sacrificed herself and became trapped. That's why when she reached for them, they disintegrated (bc they were free).
@@jamescurfman3284 Oh I 100% believe that, DC in general just seems like such legit human beings. I was just shook to see something so....cutesy upbeat??? 🤣😂🤣😂 But it was probably great and catchy especially for kids during the pandemic
it slightly through me for a loop! I thought immediately Minx era tbh when I heard it lol I haven't gotten to the Japanese albums yet! Can't wait to get to those! There are just sooo many videos I can hardly keep them straight myself anymore LOL thank goodness for my master doc or I would be lost in the sauce 🤣 That Rose Blue MV just hits soooo hard 😭
The Japanese discography 👌🏾 it's so metal. My favorite DC song is actually "Don't Light My Fire" from the Eclipse album. (we'll see if "Demian" becomes my favorite song after the newness wears off cause I almost wanna say it's my favorite now, but I'll wait)
I had Be The Future on repeat when it came out 🤣 It’s so cute and catchy even if it is covid era 😂 AleXa is really great and loves DC too so it was cute she could collab with them!
@@roguereacts It really was! Oh, as far as the members' acting skills, have you seen their parody of a Korean Drama? lol They did the entire thing including the backing track. There's yelling and screaming and physical fights (choreographed because obviously they don't want to hurt each other IRL). They even full-on curse during filming and the curses were bleeped out.
- Full Moon, one of my fav choreos (and songs). It's so good. The song was the favorite of one of their producers as well (Leez I think) - the look on a reactor's face when they first listen to No More never gets old 😂 - DEFINITELY do all their Japanese albums. The great music never stops. - R.o.S.E Blue. Yes, you got it about right. Jiu probably was in the dream world too in the beginning, but gets out by herself when she realised something was wrong (can look into the sun without blinking?) Gets a gun, enters their dreams by touching the crystal, frees them by shooting them, but gets stuck herself. Now she knew this would happen because she only had 5 bullets but frees them anyway (Jiu best leader). Another one of my fav songs.
'No More' is awesome, the guitars are really heavy but personally, I still prefer 'Endless Night' as far as the entire ambiance. It is shockingly loud the instant it starts so it can be used as a WAKE UP! alarm. :D And then there is 'Eclipse', of course; by then, the ladies were seasoned veterans, even more accomplished as vocalists than they were with 'Breaking Out, 'No More' and 'Endless Night'. Plus, always a bonus that they were OT7 when they did 'Eclipse'. :)
Was NOT expecting that metal guitar riff in No More! So good!!! Okay I thought I understood what was happening in that MV lol JiU best leader for sure!!
For me, Full Moon still the best fan song from Dreamcatcher. Over the Sky and Reason are amazing on their own, but I just feel Full Moon represents the core style of DC more. Also, the fact that some of the lyrics are pasted to the handle of the lightstick makes it more awesome. Rose Blue was composed & produced by ESTi, one of my favorite game music composer (the song is a collaboration for a game so...), and he did an amazing job recreating that Dreamcatcher vibe. You actually spot on with the story in the MV :D
all bops. no more is part of the OST for KING's RAID anime. DREAMCATCHER did the opening called Eclipse and No More is track 2/3. The third is called Don't Light My Fire! You got the rose blue MV right. They were stuck in the crystal, JiU had gotten out of it first but she realizes she doesn't have her friends so she enters the crystal and tries to save them, which ends up in her sacrife as there were no bullets left. This is a collab with the game Girl Cafe Gun and their outfits are based on the characters from the game, I'm guessing the story is too. Happy deep dive!
Omg I somehow forgot that Be the Future exists. And yeah as for Handong missing it was an unfortunate timing, although she went to China for survival program, pandemic was the main reason why she had to stay there much longer. I don’t remember if you have already checked out her recent special clip with some Dreamcatcher songs in Chinese, but I really recommend it, it’s extremely heartwarming, especially Jazz Bar. And I still hold onto the idea that one day Dreamcatcher will make a repackaged version of that album with Dongie on it
Okay that makes sense why she was missing, I figured based off the message of the video that it was during the pandemic and that's why she wasn't there! I do have some of those special clips on her solo playlist!! 🥰
When i see rose blue, i really want to see jiu in a drama. Speaking of drama. Dreamcatcher actually parody a drama called the world of the married cuz they got too bored and there are 2 parts. It is soo funny and if u never watch the drama before, there is a comparison video that help since some member acted multiple roles. Yess, the No more guitar solo is fire🔥🔥 Thanks for your reaction as always❤
"No More" is the heaviest song they did so far. It was partly written by Pontus Norgren from the Swedish powermetal band Hammerfall. He also played guitar here, especially the solo. 😊 "R.o.S.E Blue" is a game collaboration with the Korean mobile game "Girl, Café, Gun". It was written by the game's music producer Esti, who is a Dreamcatcher fan. That's why it sounds a bit different. You got it! JiU enters the crystal and frees the members by shooting them with her gun. Unfortunately, she used up all the bullets on the members and has none left for herself, so she sacrificed herself for the members. That's our leader for you. 😭😭
Rose blue is my favorite unofficial MV the lyrics are really beautiful, tho according to the lyrics since jiu couldn't get out of there they forgot her existence but somehow they have a feeling of that someone that was once there .
@@roguereacts actually it also related to the game lore, everyone of them represent a character from the game, what i remember is siyeon character does have different color eyes and a doll, but what is most important is that gahyeon IS JIU's SISTER, that is why she smile when she sees her and why jiu is feeling terrible and almost crying, in the behind the scenes there is a cut scene for jiu which I think they made mistake to cut it Also every member is traped in a nightmare or things they hate or they obssess about if i remember correctly
Love all their Japanese tracks, they always go harder than their Korean tracks. No More was done during the pandemic. No close contact, no travel, so yeah, that's the result. Oh, would love to watch watch your reaction to their Japanese album there are 2, I think. Beginning of the End, & Eclipse. Yeah, you got Rose Blue right
Out of their Japanese releases, Endless Night and Breaking out were my previous favourites but when "Don't Light My Fire" came out... it was fire, but won't spoil why :d
Rogue, you need to watch the [Dreamcatcher's Note] "Be the Future" MV Making Film. Too cute & funny. OMG, at the end you see just how short & tiny AleXa really is! 👩👩👧🤯 (PS: there are more than one behind-the-scenes for the video, so be sure to watch DC's version.)
And with AleXa & DC together, we get that much closer to completing the Dreamcatcher - AleXa - Rolling Quartz performance triangle! (Someday, Diadems, someday...)
My favorite phrase these days: The genre of Dreamcatcher is K-Whatever_the_hell_we_want_to_do. Btw just realized, one of my all time favorite Dreamcatcher song is missing from your master list: Don't light my fire. They even have a version on Dreamcatcher Official. Crazy how that song does not even have half a million view....7dream has a color coded variant. A beautiful symphonic metal piece, absolutely Nightwish territory. Michael Myers would be proud... Edit: Ah, you want to put it on Patrion as it is a Japanese release, no need IMHO. Edit2: Since the EP Eclipse has only 3 songs (+ 3 instrumentals) out of which you have already covered now "no more" now just add Eclipse M/V (Dreamcatcher official channel) and Don't Light my Fire color coded from 7dreamers to the master list, no need for Patrion here.
I love that phrase HAHA it's so accurate! I love that they just do things out of the norm and it's just a bop/banger every time! I have Don't Light my Fire on the Japanese albums! 🥰
I dont know how they looked at the concept for be the future and dreamcatcher's concept and thought "perfect match!" Unless they found love shake😝 Dreamcatcher's japanese songs are soooooo gooood You were pretty spot on for rose blue, someone explains the mv in the mv's comments pretty well!
DC does have some softer b-sides that could be taken like 'Be The Future' as far as how hard they go. Softer stuff than that, even; check out their song 'Lullaby'. The Minx era stuff makes for some normal b-side material for DC.
As a lifelong metalhead, their Japanese tracks are a godsend. That's the sound I got from DC at the very beginning with Chase Me/Goodnight/Full Moon and most recently Reason and their Japanese tracks are just ear candy. God I miss the Pony Canyon era. They got paired with pretty big-name J-Rock and Anime song composers and artists. Wait till you get to Endless Night. Sweet Jesus. Full Moon remains my favorite ever Dreamcatcher song. It's just so beautiful.
They are soooo good I love that metal vibe in these Japanese tracks!! Full Moon not only being beautiful but being their first anniversary song just hits different to!
if I remember correctly you did Breaking Out around nightmare series, and you did Endless Night already. here you did No More (which later included in Eclipse EP as b-side alongside Eclipse and Don't Light My Fire). I don't think you've checked others, so FYI they have I Miss You and My Way as their earliest JP releases which then being added with Breaking Out in their first JP album (alongside some JP versions of their prev songs). so only 4 actual JP songs left, maybe will be in 1 video? - I Miss You no MV, but there's a lyric video and performance like JP stage - My Way no MV, only lyric video - Eclipse have MV published in their own channel, I believe that's when they stopped working with Pony Canyon, but the MV doesn't have CC - Don't Light My Fire no MV, only lyric video, and better not choosing the oldest lyric video bcs it forgot to add a bit of Yoohyeon's line in the video
Love Rose Blue, when it first came out, every time I watched it, made me cry. Jiu's acting was damn good. Also a question that has been bouncing around in my head for last few days. Full Moon is on the Dystopia:Tree of Language, which Handong was stuck in China during that, but then I hear Handong in Full Moon when I was listening the other day. Now I remember they released that earlier, I guess this was the first time it was on an album.
the mv is soooo beautiful! that part with Gahyeon reaching out ... damn 😭 From what I know about full moon, is that it was recorded/released as a single in 2018 to celebrate the first anniversary before Tree of Language in 2020 where they added both anniversary songs (full moon and over the sky) to the full length album 🥰 I've been doing a lot of research behind the scenes on this deep dive LOL
their japanese tracks could all definitely be anime intros, gotta love the social distancing message they did for covid the story line for R.o.S.E. BLUE is so fascinating and almost realistic to me, because if it really came down to it, JiU definitely would sacrifice herself for the other girls. also minji in a suit is just yes. another masterpiece of their discography. take care of yourself and stay hydrated!!! ❤
They only have a few Japanese songs. The Japanese albums are mostly Japanese versions of their Korean songs. There are Japanese versions of the MV's for Piri and What. They're edited differently and have additional scenes, mainly visuals of the members, that were not in the Korean versions. They didn't do a lot of Japanese content because none of it can be shown in Korea, and then Covid put an end to everything they were doing in Japan so who knows what might have been. They cancelled their contract with their Japanese agency and turned over music distribution in Japan to Sony. I hope they go back since the market for rock music in Japan is huge.
