Fun fact: Tension was supposed to be their title song for the 1st comeback after Chase me but at the end Good night won. So they wrote new lyrics and rearranged the song a little to finally put it on this album. Probably the reason why it feels familiar to Chase me.

I think it's good to listen to an album the whole way through, but it's also perfectly fine to then create a playlist based off of the songs you particularly like

For the intro, you should also check the "Story Spoiler" video which used this track and shows a really beautiful animation that is not shown anywhere else. "Black or White" is indeed in hommage of MJ. It's also one of my fav Dami rap which she worked on. The performance of this song on Music Bank has such great editing as well and there is a DC note which shows the girls backstage reacting to it. So worth the watch (but the Music Bank performance has copyright issues). 🥰 "Jazz Bar" is such a nice addition to their amazing repertoire. Their live versions are also so mesmerizing. Many of the girls worked on the lyrics (if I remember correctly: JiU, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Dami). Thanks for the first part! And bring your family to DC concert!!!!! 😋

Loved the reaction! TToL is tied for my favorite album from Dreamcatcher. JiU's no back turn around always catches everyone off guard. 😂 Tension is my jam. It gets me so hype. They played an English version at Primavera Sound. I personally did not know that was a thing until they performed it. Not sure if I'm behind or if no one knew. You mentioned them performing their intros. They've done that for a few concerts and comebacks (videos below). The title of the video is a bit sensationalist, but the performances are indeed dope. My personal favorite is from their performance of "You and I". I can't remember if I've recommended that one before, but it's fucking dope. It was raining at the time so it added to the creepiness of the intro performance. It's in the collection video, but I'll also provide a video to the full performance. There are a handful of fan cams that provide some cool perspectives. As for "Black or White", full verse Dami is terrifying. If you want to fall for her even more, know that she has a writing credit for both "Black or White" and "Jazz Bar". I'll put a link below to their Music Bank performance of "Black or White". You know those transitions in the video? Well, I hope the editor of their performance got a damn raise. It's awesome. There's also a video of them reacting to it. The explanation that I had read was that the masked dancer was actually one of the choreographers for Scream, which would explain why everything was so seamless

Jazz Bar reminds me a lot of Eyes On Me, an OST from the Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack, in a thematic way. Julia, a jazz pianist and singer, wants Laguna, a soldier, to notice her but things kept happening to prevent it and so she wrote a song that was targeted at him. Sadly, Laguna was shy and his leg would dance nervously when he talked to Julia so he chickened out and they didn't get together. Eyes On Me is a ballad but the singer, accomplished actress & singer Faye Wong, really puts a lot of emotion into it. Jazz Bar is sexier than any video game from 1999 could ever be! It was my first exposure to Dami's vocals and I just love her light, airy tone. Tension also kind of references a song from Escape The ERA(You and I is the title track) called Trust Me. When you get to Trust Me have the tissues ready because it is S O F T af and the lyrics are very healing.

Whooo album reaction let’s go!!! This performance video of Scream is SO good. There’s also a shut dance one! Although I do kinda wish you picked live versions of Scream & Red Sun so you could see Dongie do it 😭 as of Primavera they FINALLY fixed her backing track on Scream & Boca, because a lot of her parts were originally JiU’s and they just like never changed the backing vocals for the longest time LMAO I feel you about DC taking over your music rankings. Last year I had Snapping by Chungha for a total of ONE MONTH and it became my most listened to song of the year. And Dreamcatcher was my top artist even though I’d only discovered them in August. Top DC song was Whistle, too, which I never expected 😭 Tension is SO good and for a while now it’s been their ending/encore song at concerts-at Primavera they even debuted ENGLISH LYRICS for it and istg if I hear that in person when I see them live I will bawl. I’m actually going to the NYC concert! Black & White and Jazz Bar really proves Dreamcatcher can do ANY genre they put their minds to! And I love that they’re not afraid to try! Tree of Language is kind of a mess to listen all the way through because of all the vibe switches, but it’s still filled with amazing songs. Especially this first half! The later half I don’t like as much except for Full Moon, so it’ll be interesting to hear what you think! And Handong WILL appear in Full Moon and Over the Sky-those are rereleases of their first and second anniversary songs, which I think they just added to the album so that Handong could still technically be listed on it and get her percentage of the sales earnings.

yeay reaction to one of my favorite album of all time. As a non kpopers and this is my first kpop album is such a pleasant experience. Still can't get over how versatile the sounds in this album yet still feel cohesive. note: Having dreamcatcher songs as my most streamed tracks this year as well and It's only been like 2 months since I discovered them lol

This is still my favorite over all album.. despite Handong having been in China at this time . Then End of Nightmare, Save Us, road to Utopia,Lose yourself and raid of Dream. I love the message that their songs have. I tend to listen to my library or even playlists on shuffle .. I listen to an alum form start to finish in order when I am first listening to an album a few time.. then after that it’s shuffle . I love the strings and piano in the intro, it makes the intro for me. I love Suit dance video of Scream.. and it’s in the top 5 of Dreamcatcher title tracks list. They actually performed an English version of Tension at Primavera. Love the message . I love the funk of Black or White.. and the suits and hats in the video.. love the message.. Jazz Bar, I love the chill and well jazz feel. A lot of the b-sides on this album are in the top 10 of my Dreamcatcher b-sides list. I saw Monsta X in May via the Fairfax stop and it’s 3 and a half hour drive. Now, I get to see Dreamcatcher in July via the Pennsylvania stop.. I will drive 5 and a half hours for my girls.

Handong was missing during these promotions, yes. She went to China to promote the group via a reality show called "Youth With You," so it was planned that she would miss the initial promotions for TToL. Unfortunately, she got stuck when the pandemic broke out and also missed the next series of promotions ( _Lose Myself_ & "BOCA"), but DC made sure to leave room for her in all the choreography and she has lines in all the songs she missed whenever they perform them now. For what it's worth, DC _does_ use their Intro and Outro tracks in their concerts! If you have time, btw, I recommend listening to their performance at Primavera (there's a version with HQ audio if you put "Dreamcatcher Primavera HQ Audio" in the search bar, but I don't want to risk the link here). It was really good, and you can see how they used Intro: Save Us on stage there, too. JiU's lil move at 6:38 in your video, btw, made the audience _lose_ it when they performed on music shows. She apparently thinks it's fun, too.

All of Deukae's albums, right from their first single album, Nightmare, have these instrumental intros that really give producers Leez and Ollounder the room to flex, and as you say, set the scene for what's to come. Sometimes they'll actually include a snippet of the title track to segue in, sometimes they won't, but it always fits perfectly. I do both album listens and playlists, but especially with Deukae, I don't really do playlists of my _favourite_ tracks (because frankly, they're invariably no-skip anyway), but I'll put all of an artist's songs into a playlist and put it on Random. Or combine said playlists for _several_ artists. Sometimes you have to do it in album form, but most of the time, I like to switch it up and see what fate has to offer. 😜 6:40 Oh, yeah, that jacket caused quite the stir... 🥵 9:20 Indeed; this album (and the next, Lose Myself, with the title track Boca) was recorded while Dongie was in China. 17:15 Black or White is a _multi-level_ Jacko homage. Obviously there's the title - except here it's about false dichotomies, rather than racism. You've already spotted that bassline, which yeah, I'm pretty sure is intended to _remind_ you of Beat It. And of course, the costumes and choreo offer multiple nods to MJ too. The Music Bank performance was even _better_ in terms of editing, and the girls were absolutely thrilled when they saw it. you're not wrong in your initial assessment of black or white. it's their homage to mj in more ways than one - title, lyrics, riffs, outfits, and of course the choreo. also while their lyrics are in many cases a reflection of themselves, it's also directed at their fans/listeners to be themselves and not give up on their dreams which are recurring themes in their discography. in this context tension can be interpreted as not getting down on yourself and no matter how bad you feel your situation is, you are still "doing great right now" - an iconic line they use themselves many a times during their career struggles. also keep in mind a lot of their songs are directed at insomnias, especially their slower ballad-like songs. you can view jazz bar as them on stage making eye contact with fans and having a special connection/feeling. those lucky enough to be in the front rows of their concert know they consciously try to make eye contract with everyone so their during most of their concerts they are less formal and more playful with fans.

Go to the NY Dreamcatcher concert this will be probably the last time any of us will see Dreamcatcher this year. Oh, Jazz bar has a live performance.
