This was a nice, refreshing comeback for Dreamcatcher. Though still have that signature "rock" sound, I feel that Maison had a few subtleties that make this different from their usual music.

My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. You can call me either one. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. Normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique, or share my own philosophy. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but have also taken inspiration from other dance artforms such as ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with other things hallyu like korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

The members did comment in a vlive that the dance in it's current form, they are already at the limit of stamina. JiU had said it was like running a race. I guess those small movements really add up with the intensity required.

I felt the same at first where I felt a lil underwhelmed with the choreo but I changed my mind when I saw their performance in mcountdown. They really went hard and their outfits and make up made it even better.

i agree with what you said on dami's section - we've wanted her to have harder choreos for her rap for years, especially since her you and i verse was so iconic... so glad that she finally got to show what she can do as a dancer AND get the spotlight she deserves

Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. The more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear though. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. LEEZ and Ollounder have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!

It's prog rock squeezed into 3 minutes for a pop audience. Not complaining! Imagine if there was a proper 7 minute version with full length sections. One can only dream.

Definitely progressive rock. Especially the ending had Queen/Dream Theater vibes, which I'm a huge fan of. Good on them for trying something new.

Dope analysis. If its possible can you analyse these recent comeback please : Stray kids maniac + dance practice Nmixx o.o+ dance practice and tank + dance practice. Also their freestyle is worth watching if you want. Kep1er wa da da+ dance practice and mvsk. Got the beat step back + dance practice Fromis_9 fm and escape room + both dance practice Queendom 2 i know performances might be block but if you can't check the dance practices Billlie gingamingayo+ dance practice and a sign dance practice.

I appreciate your reviews of these dances but i do have some issues with the way you chose to review this performance considering they also sing live while doing this dance "they didn't go hard enough from the start so it didn't meet my expectations", "they should have gone harder in every chorus", "they did a lot of holding at the end" (duh they are out of stamina and need a break)" as if all the members didn't already state that the dance in its current form already maxes out their stamina... I feel like you said so yourself in one of your reviews you have done before "Little movements add up in a choreo" ...but you know its not hard enough

I was more pointing out to the backup dancers towards the end and how they were holding towards the end, a little bit with the DC members too, but they're not mainly the issue. And yeah, little movements do add up, but it depends how those things project in relation to the pacing of the music. Still, I think they could've delivered more energy in some areas. Doesn't mean it's their fault, but the choreography by design. They don't need to necessarily have high-octane dance choreography all the way through, but simply a spark transition that will set them off especially in the chorus (i.e. Odd Eye they do a barrel turn right on the drop). But tbh, I think they can go harder if they wanted to regardless. If they can perform their debut song, Chase Me and do that well, then there's no reason that they can't push a bit more in Maison.

@@DonKawaii1 I totally would've agreed with you that the coreo didn't show the extra energy coming from the song. However, after looking at the mr removed videos in a music show, I can understand why they didn't put that extra kick into the coreo bc you can hear the heavy breathing while they are maintaining those live vocals w/o breaking in between when they were out of breath.

@@jaejeon1450 Tbh, I don't think the breathing is even that bad. Even amongst the most stable live performances I've seen, they're able to control their breathing quite well compared to their previous comebacks. But given that there are multiple downtime moments they have towards the end when one member is singing and the rest of them aren't, it would've been a bit better if the choreography allowed the rest of the members or even the backup dancers to showcase more motion rather than having it to die down towards the end of the piece. Again, we don’t need high energy all the time, just something effectively delivers a bang, if that makes sense.
