For people watching this video trying to decide wether to buy it or not: I bought one about a month ago and I absolutely love it. I have a roomba and an M6, and this thing out does both of them in navigation. Is so much quicker and the mapping system gets done in less than 10 minutes. I tried doing fabuloso because I like how it smells and it won’t work so just use water. It learns the house to the point that it won’t bump onto anything, not even the chair and table legs. It doesn’t go over carpet, but it does go over thresholds. Washes itself and dehydrates the pads so it doesn’t accumulate germs and odors.
Finally, someone that knows what I’m thinking lol. I wanted to know if it would pass my thresholds because I have a braava jet m6 and it won’t, by any means, go over any of the thresholds in my house! Thank you so much for mentioning it.
Thank you so much for this review. You were very detailed and I specially liked how you did the review after using it for a while. Also I love how you referenced other vacuums. I also love the idea of having one dedicated for mopping and one for vacuum.
Thank you! I think maybe it's because I actually use the products I review, so the stuff I babble about during the videos is my experience after living with it for weeks or months.
Hello Exelent review. I am planning to buy this model, it has everything I need, I am only interested in the height of the robot itself, but with a lidar sensor. Tnx
One thing no reviewer comments is doors. If one has to send this to clean the bathroom through the hallway and it needs to return regularly to station, one has to keep at least two doors open.
Yes, that is correct, but it goes without saying, until these things are able to open doors! But keeping doors open in your house helps with air circulation and temperature balancing.
I'm wondering if you ever did a full review on the Roborock S7 as to whether or not it actually scratches hardwood floors. I can't seem to find the full review. Only finding the one you did in January 2021 before they released it. Thanks!
It depends on you. Technically, you can remove the pads and have it go on carpet. Or you can do what I do, and turn off carpet detection and let it "mop" the carpet as it vacuums. It only makes the surface slightly damp and it dries in less than a minute. There is really no harm in it at all. I think people are being super dumb about this.
@@MrRoombato I also thought about doing that to be honest. The reason I haven't is our current machine which is a Hobot Legee loads of hair and dirt end up on the front of the pad and it just gets spread on the carpet. But it is a lower end of the range robot mop/vacuum. Will definitely take your suggestion on board
I’ve seen a few reviews that after a year the map feature has an issue and u loose ant saved map locations… can you comment construing regarding this Cheer Carlos
Maps get screwed up sometimes in all of these apps. You can just restore them easily. With the MiHome app, I've had a couple of random map screwups with various robots. A quick restore fixed them. Since the maps are stored on the robot, you would need to disconnect the robot's battery to lose your maps.
That's a though one. The W10 is significantly less expensive and does a fantastic job mopping and vacuuming. The downsides are no object avoidance and you have to empty the dust bin by hand, perhaps every day depending on how clean your house is. So depending on how much those things matter to you, either robot may work out well, or you may strongly prefer one to the other. It really depends on your house and your needs.
Looking to spend under $500 for mopping 2200sqft of luxury vinyl floors with 1 low pile rug. I have no pets but mostly need for spills and crumbs in the kitchen and dining area and regular cleaning throughout. Which lidar based robot with good customer service will MOP the best in my price range? Was looking at roborock S7, s5 max and Ilife w450? Any others to consider? For ex Dreametech? TIA
I wouldn't buy anything under 500 for mopping. The iLife ones are good but they are for small areas (they get lost in bigger spaces sometimes) and they aren't an automated solution. They are one step away from a handheld wet/dry floor cleaner. I would get the W10. Buy once cry once.
Hi. Great vid. I current have a ECOVACS N8+ Pro which I like but I am a bit tired of having to attach and remove mopping pad to clean my combo floors of low pile area rugs, hardwood, and tile. I assume that the Dreame W10 you have to make that same decision if you want to clean multiple type of floors? If mopping mode is selected will it go over low pile carpets and just vacuum? Also no specific clean zones in the app? I think maybe the only device on the market that does what I want is the RoboRock S7 Max V? Thanks!
Yes, the Roborock is the only one. However, the Dreame W10 can do it also if you disable carpet detection. Then it will "mop" your low pile carpeting, which in my experience isn't a problem. But then I only had it cleaning a small door rug. I don't know what the long term effects would be on large areas of carpet. It won't hurt the carpet, but it may hurt the robot (increased friction/resistance).
@@MrRoombato Thanks for the reply. Love your reviews! It was your vid that sold me on the N8+ Pro. Look like Dreame is introducing the D10+ which is probably the same in terms of mop/vac functions.
That's very subjective. To me, the answer is yes, as long as you turn off the voice. The only part that would wake me up is the gurgling from the base station as it cleans the pads, but only if the base station was in my bedroom.
I don't know, but I don't think so. Dreame makes their own solution though: www.amazon.com/stores/page/83AA0542-F896-4FC1-9EFC-34C47960B240?ingress=2&visitId=7556274f-4157-43cf-a8c3-e7956297aba8&ref_=ast_bln
Hi Mr. Roombato. I have a house with parquet floor and I am looking for which is the best robot but for mopping. Which one is in your opinion the one that cleans best with mopping of all the ones you have tried? I really like the Dreame W10 because of the drying issue. I see that others don't have it and I find it very practical since I'm many hours outside and above all hygienic.
As far as pure mopping goes, I can't really tell much difference between the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and the W10. However, the W10's pad cleaning system is more robust. Fewer moving parts, less maintenance. You'd be giving up object avoidance and a lot of features, but if mopping is your priority, I'd go with the W10. Just be ready to empty the dust bin by hand frequently.
@@MrRoombato Thank you for your prompt response. You have provided me with all the help I needed. A hug and I will continue to follow your excellent work. Best regards.
Lol. Humidity of mop pads. I guess that's the Chinese equivilent of moisture. Dreame calls vinyl flooring, leather flooring. Anyway it looks like the best so far.
lol leather flooring. Yeah, this robot is great. The only thing I don't like is that you have to empty the dust bin. The Roborock S7 MaxV will address that, but I'm not sure it will mop as well as this. We will see I guess.
Hi Does it do better vaccum .Can we do vaccuming and mopping individually if needed .Please let me know which is better among roborock s7 and dreame w10
The W10 does vacuum (very well!) and can vacuum and mop separately. The Roborock S7 can do many more things, but to know which is better, I would need to know what your individual needs/wants are. The W10 is a lot less expensive and does a fantastic job vacuuming and mopping but it will not empty its own dustbin and will not avoid objects.
@@MrRoombato Thank you very much and appreciate ur prompt response.I am looking for a robo for my house day to cleaning .with kids there will be objects sometimes left at certain places in the home .I am looking for a map stored facility and able to access from phone to only certain zones when needed .In terms of pricing roborock comes to 1100 and dreame w10 comes to 1600 after some Easter offers .Your input will really help me .
@@gowthamib2936 The price for the Roborock looks like it's just for the robot, which by itself is lacking most of the things that make it great. Price it with the Ultra dock, which will be on the market in May. I think you will be happy with the Dreame W10, and happier with the Roborock with the Ultra dock. But which you buy depends on how much you want to spend.
@@gowthamib2936 One thing to note, the Roborck doesn't mop well if it vacuums and mops at the same time. I talk about this in my "which one should you buy" video which you can find on my channel. To mop well, it has to make very tight turns and overlap, which is only available when set to mop only. That may change, because it's a software thing, or it may not. The Dreame W10 mops much better when it's vacuuming and mopping at the same time. I have my Roborock set to vacuum first, then mop, in my nightly schedule. Since I'm sleeping, this doesn't matter to me at all. But it may matter to you.
I don't have an S7 but I just got an S7 MaxV Ultra. So far, I prefer the rotating mop pads because they clean better on a single pass. With a vibrating mop pad, the very edges of the pad don't really do much, and it doesn't get as much coverage on a single pass. Now as to which one I would buy...well, as of right now, the S7 MaxV is a beast. But I just got it a few days ago. Going to release a first look video in a couple of hours.
No, I'd get the Dreame W10 if mopping is your primary concern. But if you want one machine for everything it looks like the S7 MaxV Ultra (not the regular S7) is the way to go. The W10 is a great vacuum as well as a fantastic mop, but you'll have to empty the dust bin yourself and it doesn't do object avoidance.
@@rerefam7948 I mean for obstacle recognition/avoidance, emptying the dust bin and the app. But, after filming my tests, I have to say that I'm not sure the W10 cleans better anymore. Maybe a tad better on hard floors (like you wouldn't notice without a direct comparison and maybe not even then) and a little better on low pile carpeting. But not better at mopping.
Can you check something on the Z10 pro? If you take out the bin, there are vents where the air is pulled in on the inside. Are they straight across? Mine stopped working and I can't get rid of the clean and check filter error and the suction/ air flow won't engage.
The Z10 pulls air in through the right port on the dust bin (it is blown in from the dock, so it recirculates). If you are getting that error, try removing the dust bag (in the dock) and check the pipe right near the inlet. Stuff can get stuck there. Mine met its match in the form of christmas tree needles mixed with thick clumps of dog hair. The roomba bins couldn't cope with it either.
@@MrRoombato it's not the base. It's the robot itself. Can you take out the dust bin and look at the ridges behind it. Mine are crooked, not sure if it should be that way. The vacuum will start saying positioning move are and stop and say check and clean filter.
@@richardsmith1161 You're talking about the plastic mesh behind between the dust bin and the vacuum motor? Yes those are straight...it's a symmetrical mesh.
@@MrRoombato Yes. Mine is uneven. Looks melted. I did notice a plastic bottle cap was in the bin with grey paint. Do you mind if I email you a picture? Support keeps sending me instructions on how to clean the bin
Even though my tests did not indicate this, I'd have to say the W450. But it isn't by much. Also, the W450 is one step above a hand mop. It's actually easier to use a swiffer if you're moping a small area. With all the work to clean it and prep it, the W450 is best for larger areas. The W10, like the Narwal, is a true automated mopping solution. But the W10 is better.
@@MrRoombato i have the ilife w455 and it work very well, the only cons is the battery life.. it work for 1,5h but to deep clean 2 room i have to clean multiple times at low speed and the battery time is not enougth. I would like to test if is possible to add an additional battery linked to the original one, to double the clean time.. can it work if linked in parallel with the original one?
@@Gambero1981 The short answer is yes, the long answer is you'd have to disassemble the battery itself (depending on type) and wire additional cells and then somehow fit it back in the housing. It's not practical.
How do you create additional maps without moving the base? I have a step to my Kitchen and base is in the living room. I have done this prior but wanted to remap kitchen and deleted the kitchen map. Now it will not save the map. Dreame Tech told me I had to move the base, but I know I didn't and was able to create 3 maps on different levels.
Well, to create an additional map, go to map management and click on the + thing below the current map, and choose fast mapping. However, I don't know if you have to move the base. I've never had to do it. If Dreame says you do, then you probably do. I'd try it both ways. It only takes a few minutes to fast map.
Sorry you had this experience. Have you tried contacting Dreame? I recognized this as a potential point of failure and take care with them, so mine have held for a long time with no issues.
They're in a different league than a Braava. It's hard to explain. The W10 mops faster, better and it can mop for a long time before you have to do anything to it. It can also navigate really well and get over just about any room divider. The m6 is in my closet gathering dust because once you use one of these you can't go back. Want to buy an m6, cheap? :)
@@MrRoombato Don't get me wrong, they seem legit. I just have a small kitchen/dining area it would be used for only. Too hard to justify 1,000 for that. I'd be happy to get a good deal on an m6
@@kyle-qw5yx For mopping one room, they are good. In my kitchen I didn't even change/clean the pad until the water tank ran out. I'm not sure how I'd sell you mind. I do plan to put it on ebay soon, and I think you can find some great deals there.
