Late 90's... I'm 9 years old, standing in the videogame section at Toys R Us, controller in-hand... craning my neck backwards, up at the screen, soaking in the electric eye-bliss that was this first level. I usually find these Sonic mod videos kind of annoying, but as a long-time fanatic of Jet Set Radio, I not only approve of this one- I dig it.
2004, im 6, standing in the video game section of my grocery store, looking at a copy of Sonic Adventure DX for the gamecube, i was shocked cuz i had no idea there was a 3D Sonic game since i had only played Sonic 1, 2 & 3 on my Dad's computer. He bought it for me that day & it's been one of my favorite games ever since. These Cyberfunk Sonic mods make me think "this is rly all Sonic Adventure 3 had to be..."
@@John-XOh dude! I bet that was some kind of shock, jumping from 2D to 3D Sonic like that........... similar happened to me: Went directly from original NES to Sega Dreamcast; little pixel "Mario Bros" and "Excite Bike" one day, full on 3D "Pen Pen TriIcelon" and "Power Stone" the next...... LSD for kids. I wish the Sonic Adventure 2 team went on directly to make Sonic Adventure 3... I feel Sonic's been lost for so many years now, and would take a fresh mind to truly reinvent (albeit I have yet to try Superstars).
@@somenuttysquirrel oh, dude, i cannot tell you the hype & chills i got from the intro alone, i still get chills from that intro. I was so psyched that they were talking, the music was amazing, the redesigns were so cool, & the amount of characters you could play as, & the first time i snowboarded in Ice Cap, i mean it was just a dream come true. I'll never forget that. & ur totally right about the franchise needing a fresh mind to reinvent itself. Sega is still on lockdown ever since 2006 they've been too scared to try anything risky. There are also gen limitations, i feel like maybe the next generation could have some potential. I wouldn't mind them going the alternate universe route, which would allow them to try different things without causing long-term damage to the franchise if it doesn't work out.
The speed is modded in. You can play it slow and normally if you want. The movement plus mod let's you go up to 200 km/ph. Normal bomb rush cyber funk may be for you
Movement plus mod seems like a bit much for these maps since they’re a bit small and you can basically fly across the entire map with the enhanced movement. Other than that these maps look great
The cel shaded shadows and general lighting of this game pairs so nicely with these old low-res maps, it almost feels as though they were made for the game.
They already have shibuya temple! It's a fun mod, and you can even mod in beat himself. This sonic mod had an alternate skin where he's dressed up as beat, too
Man when you can actually tech and fly at such speeds you can Really feel like these maps are improperly scaled I'm pretty sure there was Way more Room maneuvering about those boardwalks as Sonic in Adventure
There was, but I have a mod that increases the speed. The normal game would be much more akin to the speed of sonic adventure, but I like going fast it's more fun for me
