Patrick's split personalities akin to multiple living people in one body and Gary being a lovecraftian being who is demoted to a weaker form as a form of punishment by those around his level previously, being the illuminati for Gary and the Sky Gods for Mort
I think your dentist botched it, your jaw shouldn't hurt for this long because of the dentist unless you had a unique problem or pre existing medical condition. If it doesn't feel better within a week ask your GP for antibiotics. Im not a doctor but I had the same problem and I had to take antibiotics for it.
