I like these because they are not as figure-revealing as in previous years -- important for those of us who don't have willowy figures -- and not as silly as the styles became later. They are attractive without taking all the attention away from the woman wearing them. The rouleaux decoration and the fancy sleeves are under control.

Beautiful lilac colored gown, love the embellishments on the bodice and hem. The lower waist creates a flayyering silhouette.

If I ever got a gown made for myself, this is the era I would like to emulate. I love the lines of this era of dresses, and the decorative elements like the embellished bodice, hemline, and intricate, puffy sleeves. Both the dresses shown here are gorgeous.❤

Absolutely gorgeous and easy, more ”breathable” style and cute. Loved the light lavender color. ❤

Awww! I love the hubby cameo too - the little look when you mentioned not wearing your wedding band is adorable. What a lovely gown! I will most certainly be getting one or more of your books when I can. Cheers!

The lavender dress suits you particularly well 😻 A beautiful shade.

Mhm, just wanted to say that a slightly darker/warmer shade would suit you better. The purple ribbons on the hat instantly livened up this pale outfit. The dress itself was very beautifully made.

It might just be my tablet on night mode, but the pictures in the sun seemed overexposed to my eye. That includes the one inside on the staircase with the sun falling on you. I hope it's just my system, though. Everything else was lovely, and I thought the dresses (and the hat) and Lucas' attire were so well made and attractive! Your craft skill is amazing. Thank you for bringing it to us.

I had long been curious as to the exact nature of corsets during this strangely-dewaisted period, so thank you for enlightening us! I have a question though: *were the waists of this period vs. that of the Victorians due to lower-level corset technology, or simply a strange change in aesthetic taste (or both)?*
@priorattire
@priorattire Месяц назад
Change of aesthetic. Corsets in the 39 and the. 40s , so Victorian, were not much different- the clothes worn over them were , and we see a narrow waist, in case of the 30s accentuated by very wide skirts and huge sleeves
