I explore a section of Birmingham canal navigations in parts of the black country looking at scenery and industrial history making our way to spon lane where chances glass works is situated. our canals are amazing to see and the BCN has lots of history to discover .

I love the canals. They're really impressive works of historical engineering, but also wonderful, relaxing places. It's great that since they're no longer used by industry they've been used to bring a bit of peace and nature into our cities. There are some great bits on the Coventry canal if you're looking for ideas- it's a mix of city and countryside with some wonderful old industrial buildings along the way.

I'll check that one out somepoint the Coventry canal sounds a interesting one I love the scenery down some of them you can tell where the old industry was

i worked at chance glass factory 1971 to 1974 till i moved to devon in 1974
