I worked as a domestic assistant straight from leaving school in 1981 until 1984. If anyone remembers the old out patients dept, their were padded cells from the workhouse days on the upper floor

I was born there in 1951, always known as "Sandfield" hospital after the workhouse which was also known as Sandfield Workhouse, my mother was a nurse there in the 1970s and 80s and my gran worked there for donkeys years as a cleaner

Hi. My husband worked at Wordsley Hospital from 1989 to 1996 as maintenance. He used to go up the clock tower and wind the clock. We were both born at Wordsley Hospital in 1971 and 1972 in E Block.

@@MidlandsOutdoors I believe there were. I think he may have etched/written his name up there somewhere. He has such amazing memories and was a really lovely place to work. He then went to Russells Hall. Employed by the NHS for over 35 years.

Many memories of this place. My mom and dad met there and spent most their working lives there. I often walk to where my Dads lab was ( now converted to a home) and try and visualise how it looked when Dad used to take me to his lab.

The clock tower building would normally be the administration block for admissions into the workhouse where You would have been seperated from family members. The workhouse master / oversser would have lived in the upper floors. Breaking stone and working the land for the fellas' laundry work picking rope etc for thewomen,.,. just wonder which building held the children / or was used as a childrens home,.,.

I tried to find out I think there was another ward in the big grassy part at the start of the film that got demolished but some those what remain look like they could have been built in the war period they very small and compact

It was E Block, the very top of the site. It was originally way behind the clock tower building
