So you have a few drill bits that look like mushrooms and you want to restore them to a functional state. That is good, join the sharpeners, you can do it by hand but a jig may be better when starting. And this one is for beginners not only because is relatively easy to use but because it is also inexpensive.

i recently bought one and i love it . if used properly , it will leave bits with chisel point centered . some more expensive sharpeners rely on counting how many times you grind on each side , which doesn't seem very accurate to me .

Great video however, my instructions say 1/16" overhang and you are saying ½ diameter overhang. I have always had issues with the overhang resulting in a long chisel edge. I see your bits also have a very long chisel edge. I will play some more to see if I can get good repeatability

I have found an overhand approx equal to the diameter of the drill to work best, but sometimes you still need to make changes to that to get the correct angles. I don't use the lip stop either, I set by eye, works better for me.
