I'm an HVAC technician and have one of these. This helps so much getting air handlers, evaporators and furnaces up into attics. Takes a little more time but is so much safer and better for your back.

Yo peeps! That winch would be very convenient for so many applications. I've had a warn winch on my jeep for 8 yrs and it has saved my butt and rig from some serious situations. I've also helped a few other people get out of trouble. The wireless feature on these winches are pretty sweet. It allows me to stay far enough away so if the cable was to break, I wouldn't be sliced in half. Thanks for showing us that product and have a wonderful day

Was trying to decide whether to go with the wire or rope version. You quickly gave me the two important reasons to go with the rope version. Great review, thank you!

750 lbs doesn't sound like much but that amount of pulling power should make a big difference when you're stuck.

Good lord... Who would think of operating a winch while directly in the line of fire in he event of a failure. Insane.

Seems like a good compact easy to use winch. Ideal for loading & unloading heavy objects into a truck to save my back.

These are NOT designed/certified for vertical lifting. Its a serious safety issue due to how the internal clutch is designed.

I like building computers and watching sports, nothing wrong with either. Thanks for the vid, I'm very interested in grabbing one of these. I have been wanting a small battery powered winch and this fits the bill along with my Milwaukee Fuel tools.

When I was checking, there is a proper battery WARN winch/pullalong - don't know if they use their own proprietary design, or use some other company's, batteries and charger.

just remember 'rolling" isn't the same as dragging. a half ton truck is say 5000lb but put it in neutral and push it easily. now trying pushing a 5000lb pallet or concrete block. you could easily 'double line pull' using a pulley to double back the winch line to itself doubling the pulling force to 1500lb 'dragging force' but probably 4000lb 'rolling force' just food for thought. we use these for tree trimming/tree removal they're alot quicker and less hassle then manual rope pullers(come-alongs) and for installing fencing to stretch the fence for only $200 every garage needs one of these

It only pulls 750 lbs. I wish it was 1000. My mower weighs about that. I’ll probably get a permanent Warn unit.
@gordowg1wg145
@gordowg1wg145 4 года назад
That's 750lbs dead weight, it would drag much more than that. You could also use a relay block, or two, for additional pulling force. [edit] Only found a 500lb version - is that 750lbs correct?

@@Toolsinaction Thank you for the response. I missed that on the WARN site, but found it elsewhere - I'm in NZ, so that may have caused some issues. My apologies for not updating the post. It seems they also have a battery winch/pull-along that may be of interest for many as it cuts out the hassle of needing to use the drill and so 'should' be easier to use - and if it uses the same batteries as one of the bigger brands, there could be a lot more potential for it. I didn't go into it too deeply, as I don't have a use for one. It could be worth a look over - heck, I wager Stanley could find a use every day ;-) Take care, stay safe, and keep your loved ones near - we're living in troubled times, and your country more than many.

DO NOT TRUST THIS WINCH TO PULL YOU OUT. I have one of these with the steel cable and find it NOT as useful as I would like it to be. It just doesn’t have the power I wish it had. Over weight or if what your pulling get stuck even on a small ledge will cause the clutch to slip preventing it from breaking. It does not have a break so if you need it to hold the load it can’t do that. You want that more than you think. Especially if the load catches on a ledge as your pulling on it. This is not powerful to pull out a stuck ATV let along a Jeep. If you want a good useful portable winch look into a Lewis chainsaw winch or a capstan winch.
