Mr. Pete, it has been over a year since I have commented on your channel. I can count on you to refresh my interest in shop practice. The passion you have for shop subjects is strong. You are able to hold my attention without waver. Thank you for all you do. Please keep making videos in your unique style. I'm in my late 70's and one of my earliest shop teachers was an English man that was in an exchange program. He had your passion for this subject. You get an A+ for entertaining me. Thank you.

Mr Pete, your videos are great! You make me miss my shop teachers! They, like you, made/make learning fun. Never ever boring! Collecting and working with tools is better than wasting away in a recliner. Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to getting my first lathe running, making chips, and then buying a bigger lathe :-) !!

Mr Pete, thank you. Your videos are as entertaining as they are instructional. Straight instructional videos with a narrow and concise topic have their place but, the little extra tidbits you include in every presentation are worth their weight in gold. This knowledge being passed on won't be found in any textbook. There is always a history or some other fact about tools and machines that would be lost without people like you. Again thanks, as long as you have stories you will have an audience.

All the way with you Mr Tubalcain! It was a very informative tutorial, learned more about vises. I also like when you come up with manufacturers mention, some of those companies are no more but its nice to know of their quality products. Nostalgic, we remember the days of catalogues in magazines. By the way, there is a lot of machine work in Africa - they have to keep their Chinese railstock, and Indian made Tata trucks running among others. Did you know that South Africa, Republic of was one of the countries that made a nuclear device. I live in New Zealand, but was born in Uganda. Thank you.

Mr Pete, Those little home made vices were a project we made in machine shop in grade nine... I remember getting a poor grade on the one I made from those identical cast blocks... I kept mine for many years in my tool box until I decided to take it apart and remachie it... I think if we had the same equipment in school as we did in our large manufacturig areana I may have goten a much better mark... That said, those little castings are what we started with... Enjoy the video, brings back the fun times we experienced in those days...Bob

Have never shut you off early yet MrPete, with you till the end. I know I'm not supposed to covet another man's vise (or something like that), but I have a serious case of vise envy. I only have two vises so far, one is from the chinesium store like the first one you said you hate. The other one came with my antique 21 in. Buffalo Forge. It's a 6 in. Speed Vise. Great vise, although it looks like the craters of the moon. I think Bubba must have used it when he was in highschool. I'm wanting to get a new vise so this video was great to see.
