TL 15 safes are the type of unit created for places like jewelry stores and pharmacies to operate under strict insurance stipulations. This specific TL safe is a TL 15 rated safe, meaning that it's been rated to survive safecracking by 2 experts in the Underwriters' Laboratories with most common mechanical and electrical tools for at least 15 minutes.
These safes are some of the sturdiest units an individual can buy to secure their property. TL rated safes feature special features to make them more secure, such as a steel ball-bearing hard plate to resist drills and a heavy concrete mix to protect from fire. The TL-15 safe we show in this video is at least 600 lbs!

Amazing how far cordless drills have come! I think this video shows how hard it is to break through a TL15 safe. Never skimp on a safe, always go with a UL high security safe, saved my cash in a nighttime business robbery.

I suggest that you buy some good ridgid surgical scopes especially a 90 degree Storz/Hopkins The flexible ones aren't bad but you need to keep adjusting them.

Some sites selling electronic locks, say some can decode a combination lock (Grade two) in 15minutes. Is this true or not real true in practical terms. Lot easier to drill ? Thanks for posting must put some thing, over change key hole 😊

I may missed it because I skimmed through the video, but what makes a safe locking system fail to where you can't get into it? How long should a safe last?
@GuardianSafeAndLock
@GuardianSafeAndLock 3 года назад
It’s not that it fails, in this case they didn’t have the code, but if it’s a manual dial it can be many things and the same with the electronic. Both are for the most part reliable, but there are a variety of possibilities. - Uriah

@@Mike-01234 Hey thx for tuning in! I’d say every few years or so is fine, but the second you start to think something is different or starting to not work correctly, call a professional locksmith. what happens if they break off the digital unit on a Hollon TL? I see they are made to be replaced, but how would it open? If the unit has the code, not the safe, and the unit is knocked off and broken, how to you get back in? Thank you if you get time to answer. Very curious.

Is there a way to stop a scope from bring used if crook used the same method you did on a comparable safe
@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 2 года назад
Catch them before they finish. If a crook really wants to get in fast, they would use an exothermic torch. in and out in less than a minute. Of course, it takes skill since the torch could also burn up the valuables inside without good planning.
@MasterSafecracker
@MasterSafecracker 2 года назад
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Put a small pop rivet in the change key hole so it can't be used to view the wheels inside the lock. Have another cover in the safe without a rivet in the change key hole incase you ever need to change to combination. Just swap the cover and change the combo then replace the one with the rivet back on the lock.

Would having a digital keypad lock make it more difficult to employ a camera in that way to open the dial lock.
@tdb19872
@tdb19872 2 года назад
Well, it wo be impossible to employ this technique as there are no wheels in an electronic lock. Drilling an electronic lock depends on the type of locking mechanism used but is a totally different technique. Not necessarily harder, but different. Depending on the electronic lock and bolt work and relockers it could be much harder though.

It's even easier to just use an exothermic torch. If the criminal has the time to be drilling/cutting into your safe, it is already compromised.

@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 9 месяцев назад
@@locklear308 For sure, but you can mitigate a lot of the risk in the technique. Obviously if you are trying to get paper documents it would be a bad idea. But stuff like precious metals or even guns wouldn't see too much damage. The safe is just to buy you time and first and foremost as a deterrent. It doesn't actually stop a criminal, just like a video surveillance system doesn't stop criminals either. Both layers of security require human intervention.
