That’s a hard day at work. I thought carrying each 4’X8’ sheet by sheet to the panel saw to rip cabinet material was hard, gotta give all these people respect, without them, nothing much in the world would be going on without them or petrol. Props👍

If they are tripping in or tripping out then it only takes about a minute to get to the next stand....if you start to swab then it would be done slower. While drilling though it all depends on the speed at which they are drilling at, can be anywhere from 15 mins to a couple hours.
Now I understand why oil riggers/offshore workers comes (pre Covid) to Phuket on regular basis, and partying their brains out 🤣🤣🤣 Dang, that’s a tough job!😳
Back to back. The only time you really get a break is when you start slow drilling. Then you gotta get rock samples to have the geo test em for oil. Then you move the rig to the next site and set up for drilling
Depends. With no experience you may start at your states minimum wage. A lot of the money made for most drill crews comes from the 12-36 hour shifts and if they get paid footage as well as hourly. I myself am only a few months into drilling making 15 an hour as a rig hand. All my money comes from overtime
@@jamesperry3449 that’s America, totally different in Canada, if your not getting paid 30+ an hour, they wouldn’t have any employees, currently am working 10 hour days getting paid 12 at 31.50 an hour with 200 a day live out allowance. I pull 3100 a week.
@@jamesperry3449 I wouldn’t be risking my life for 15 an hour, look for a different company, try pipelining, it pays more. Not trying to brag, just don’t like seeing people get worked for less than they deserve, we can’t find enough hands up here, no one wants to do it anymore. If they threaten to lower pay, we wobble, they know we’re a dying breed.

My dad had a worker that would throw the chain back handed, lefthanded, I think. My dad ended up with a broken finger because of the chain being thrown back handed.
It's called the spinning chain and is used to wind the threads on the pipe into the 'connection'...it was outlawed in the north sea (where i used to work) years ago cos it has a nasty habit of nipping fingers off !
Oh those guys get paid well, but there are way more guys that can do this job than run an oil company. That's why the CEO makes so much more. You're comparing sailors to the captain.
Maybe because being a CEO is difficult and has a lot of financial risk. As an employee if the company fails you go find a new job, but as a CEO you lose everything and go into massive debt.

@@Reperanger7 still, any women could do this line of work. Anyone can turn wrenches and fit pipe, it's not complex nor does it take a whole lot. It looks worse than it is.
