At the grassroots reactionary sentiment put pressure on both governments slowly building into a powerful sheering force that see both into the first major interstellar war in human history.” *happy music starts playing*
This might be weird or bad to say, but I love the knock on effect anthro chauvenism has on the world, where no matter how good you may want to be as a character its always kind of a shadow hanging over you. Even regretting it and lamenting for what could have been leads to so many cool roleplaying options. All cause the progenators of your interstellar empire couldn't help but be afraid of losing control. Whats even better, the current form of Union is held back so much by this, that they are allowing corpo states, monorachies, and other rotors into the political machine that that might just bring it down instead. Its damned if you do and damned if you don't and it feels so good.
Yeah. It’s a really brilliantly realistic and honest world building. I love that Lancer has a point of view, a hopeful take on how utopia might be possible, but still takes the time to ponder the problems, challenges, and impossible situations that it might face. It makes for really compelling individual characterizations and broad geopolitics when there’s a common goal but no easy answers and a horrible history overshadowing it all.
