If you’re trying make a balanced cocktail, there’s certain flavors that might not mesh well in older stock(namely sherry cask finishes). Then there’s overpowering the nuance of the high end spirit. Orange zest cause oranges is a fruit well loved by sicilians and produced by them, then the Disaronno is more of northern thing, but could work, definitely the best amaretto
The oranges in the movie are to provide color contrast. The set designer liked to keep his sets very dark and moody and Coppolla added oranges as a set detail so the colors would pop more

I have an idea for a 2020 cocktail based on a Twitter post from around then. Add any amount of Corona beer (You know why) and twice the amount of Hurricane (Representing the two hurricanes) as well as a shot of Fireball whiskey (forest fire). Serve it in the rocks (representing the Earth and how it's messed up recently with everything inside it) and enjoy... I guess. I've never had alcohol before lol

2oz bourbon, .5oz amaretto, 2 dashes angostura, garnish orange peel. Optional 2-4 dashes orange bitters. It should be good, it's just a godfather with bitters, and the drink can be a bit too smooth to be hollow. No sugar needed because the amaretto is so sweet on its own.
i actually am from saronno,the city where the disaronno has been made(di meaning: "proprety of",or "from" in this case),and I can assure you that,unfortunally, saronno is in the northern part of Italy,and not in the South like sicily,but still great video man!

I highly doubt this was as good as he claims. Johnnie Walker is easily the WORST booze I’ve ever tasted, I can pokerface 180 proof moonshine but the mere 80 proof Johnny Walker was intolerable unless mixed with another drink such as coke. The drunk feel was very nice but I had to mix 2:3 coke and Johnny ratio to be able to tolerate it without projectile vomiting
I doubt The Godfather would be drinking Johnny Walker red label. They didn’t have it back then, and it’s cheap and blended. A godfather would be drinking real scotch. Something with glen in the name. Or any of the venerable macallan 30+ year olds. I love amaretto. I hate The Godfather. But maybe I’d like this drink because scotch is one of if not the only spirit I can stand.
Ok so I tried to watch The Godfather a few months ago and just…couldn’t get through it. Not because it was “too violent” or anything like that, I just thought the plot was moving way too slow and was therefore super boring to watch and keep up with. I’m kind of ashamed because I’ve heard such great things about it being that its one of the most iconic films of all time. Maybe I’ll try to give it another chance like 10 years from now when I’m older and in my 30s, maybe then I can appreciate it more. Edit: fixed some typos
