Great video. My wife offered to take me to Czechia for my thirtieth next year, specifically for the beer and brewery tours, so I'll be using this as a guide.
Prague, Munich, and Pilsen, so beautiful. I'd love to make such an epic trip like that some day. As a lover of so many Bavarian lagers and ales, I absolutely must visit Germany.
Hostomicka Nelevarna is pretty much my definition of the perfect pub, the pub snacks are almost as perfect as the beer itself! I could probably convert half of my garage here into a reasonable facsimile of it if I had the time.
@tanglefootbrewing I will be writing about Czech pub snacks on Fuggled this week. We had the nakladaný hermelín, utopenci, and škvarková pomazanka at Nelevarna last week, and lots of glorious Czech bread.
Glad you enjoyed your trip to Czechia and Bavaria and some good beer 🤩. Watching this from Thailand, where I live now with my wife, I start realizing how lucky I was studying for 5+ years among this architectural beauty of Prague center. And I wish to drink some at least decent beer here, so I started learning to brew at home. Yesterday I visited a Chiang Mai Beer Fest, first even of its kind I remember. It was pretty punk. Some ales not bad, some beers - how can anyone call that liquid a beer. I feel the passion, but lack of experience and knowledge how a lager should taste at all. I believe with some more education in Czech beer brewing it will go well in future. And next year in Czechia, I need to visit Plzeň and Únětice :).
Thailand is on my short list of travel spots! Working in some beer training materials too so if you need some guidance I will have some educational stuff coming out soon. 🍻
@tanglefootbrewing Nice :). If you happen to visit Chiang Mai, let me know. We may stop for some beer or try my homebrew beer if there's some around, or I can give you some tips which places have interesting beer. I'd like to try NovaLager or other real lager yeasts, instead of Litra kveik/K97, so there may be already some beer close to Czech beer.
I hope you guys get to go back. We went for two and a half weeks this summer and still feel like I needed ten times that amount of time. I really want to get to České Budějovice to see the home of Budvar... and try all the varieties they have there. The first time we went to Prague my wife (GF at the time) and I were sick all but two days of our 10 days there. but still worth it :)
Great, you've been to Unetice, it's my one of the best of the best in Czech . What do you think about it? Next time you will be in CZ, i can walk you through the different small breweries.
Great trip. Its good to be young. Did they serve any higher ABV stuff there. I know it makes for a shorter day but just wondering if you had a chance to try anything like your 22 degree?
