In the Witcher world there is whats called "the law of suprise", it goes like this, someone is saved by someone else they offer anything in return, the saviour then says "give me the first thing you find at home but dont expect", and then fate itself will couse things to align so that person will always have to give up their child. Thats actually how Geralt became Ciri's adoptive father, by saving Emhyrs life, althou Geralt was daubtful of fate and infact wanted to prove it does work only for Emhyr to find out his lover was pregnant. 48:12 also love that line from Lambert 1:05:03 its a white powder. lets leave it at that. 1:09:50 it was a great idea. i suggest you check it out, well worth it. 1:13:05 After a siege on the castle that ended with most witchers dead, the whole system kind of collapsed, and they never brought it back. Mostly content to let the trade die. 1:19:20 good intentions but terrible methods and seemingly no restraint. Hence why i prefer Triss. I like my women with a heart. Youre at maybe 70% of the game. plus there are dlcs 1:38:32 the other option is better, again suggest you check it.

Found Witcher 3 for the first time a month ago myself, and started watching play thrus, cool to see your play thru too, you are very chill, which makes it relaxing.

(from the tutorial) 34 min: If you sleep with Triss earlier in the game and press Yennefer about the bed here, she'll get so pissed that she will...(NO SPOILER, please!) Chort cave: There is another opening atop the hill. I didn't find this either in my first playthrough. Did the same maneuver as you did to get in the cave.

Eskel and Geralt became Witchers together. Both are the same age. Larbert is the youngest.

You should have told Lambert he was a “Genius” when he suggested calling the sorceresses, if you laughed hard at the rest of the drunk scenes you would have fallen off your chair laughing at that last very last part. But you can always do it on your next playthrough. 🦘🦘🦘

The are several Witchers from the Wolf school. There is a thing called the "law of surprise", which is what a Witcher might agree to if someone has no money to pay for a service or rescue. Often the first thing you see when you get home, or something along those lines. Sometimes dogs, horses or a child. I'm sure there was room for negotiation if you had some other valuable, but as we have seen too many children can be a burden during hard times. Many witcher candidates were orphans, trained from an early age with a high mortality rate, so effectively they grew up together, eating, sleeping and facing the dangers of training and trials so knew each other most of their lives. I expect it's why Lambert still comes back rather than just going his own way despite all his complaining. Berengar was another Wolf school witcher who was around in game 1. Lambert and Eskel did appear in the first game at Kaer Morhen but were just hanging around. Look around outside the castle and you will find some lore about the region, when the school was much larger. Vesemir was a trainer at the school, and I'm pretty sure Lambert was the last Witcher to come out of the school. Vesemir obviously doesn't want to leave and encourage everyone to come back to the castle over winter. I can't recall if you met the Cat school Witcher who "retired" to become a merchant and adopted a family. There was also another witcher who regretted that while he stayed relatively young, his sister grew old and died. These are game details, I don't know about the books. The games start where the book finished, and new characters were created etc. Back in the day most occupations were lifestyles rather than jobs.

Caught up now. Been great following this series. I love how invested in the game you are. Sounds like you are interested in getting some different or upgraded witcher gear. I think you have bought most maps for that, but you must READ them as well for the quests to trigger! I recommend you not leave anything unread for long, it will only confuse things. There might be more quests and Bestiary entries hiding among your unread stuff. You have some unread things in the stash, too. Anything unread has a bright shiny colour compared to the things you've already read. If you like the Cat school gear specifically, here are the locations where to buy those maps: (SPOILER!) Upgrade quest parts 1 and 2: Merchant and Blacksmith in Blackbough. Part 3: Quartermaster at Crow's Perch. I don't think you have talked to this guy even once. He's on the other side (vs. Fergus and Yoana) of the entrance to the courtyard. He sells gwent cards and some Nilfgaardian gear, too. Part 4: Blacksmith in Lindenvale.

'The Isle of Mists' is a cutoff point for several quests. I think you have played most of them. The ones I think you have not played yet are: * 'A Dangerous Game'. This is Zoltan's quest about his debt. If you want to play this, do NOT tell Zoltan you want his help at Kaer Morhen until *after* this quest. * 'A Deadly Plot'. Dijkstra's quest about assassinating Radovid.

I would definitely recommend doing as many secondary quests as you can right now.

There is a history with sorceresses which is why everyone is suspicious of them. I think the Elf is from the books, as many characters known to Geralt are. You can explore the Kaer Morhen area, despite the urgency to continue the main quest.

1:27:54 I also wish the story would never end. That's why I'm watching your playthrough 🙂 But don't worry - there's still about 30% of the main story left. And there are great DLCs

Ooo, the game's about to get good! 😆 😁 One thing though. While you are gathering allies you may want to find and craft your next level Cat armor and weapons before you set sail for the Isle of Mist. You won't have the opportunity afterward, and although you do not necessarily need the next level armor, it definitely will help. Make sure your potions and grenades are fully stocked and your weapons sharpened too.

Completely separately: the drunken night in 'Ugly Baby' is the episode I show to people who know nothing about modern computer games. The graphics make it immediately clear it's not 'space invaders' while the writing, acting, characterisation and humour demonstrate that games are at least as good as cinema/TV at telling a story. Explaining that the whole game is a 100+ hour story where you'll laugh, cry, and question morality seals the deal.

Yen wasn’t only talking about Triss when so made the comment about being discrete with other sorceresses, details in the books, our Geralt is a bit of a hound dog (and we love him for it). However, Yen (who I love second only to Ves) can’t talk as she slept with our boy, Geralt, and someone the next night (in books again not too many spoilers here), Geralt only ever was with other people when he had amnesias or when Yen and he was on a break. Yen on the other hand ….. By the way Ciri can also travel through both dimension/space and through time. 🦘🦘🦘

I thought I was the only that felt that way about Sundays! That’s a worry ….. for you, mate. lol 🤣 But please don’t worry you still have heaps of game to play and if you are playing both HEART OF STONE and BLOOD AND WINE you have around 3/4 of the original The Witcher 3 game. So we have a “long journey on the path”, yet to go. As for Eskel you’ll find him in The Witcher, The Witcher 2 (in flashback’s). As for the other Witcher’s liking Triss more, well many “Experts” believe that not only did Geralt sleep with her when he had lost his memory but so has ….. Lambert. I am still undecided if this is true or not but as I don’t like him or her I also don’t care. 🤷 But it is, if true, an insight into them both. 🦘🐨🦘🐨

There is something I want to warning you about because you don’t have Kiera Metz but it would/could be a spoiler. Even without Keira this plot twist may not happen. But I can’t say anything more or it may be a spoiler. If you want a little more info let me know, but if not totally understand 100%, mate. 🦘🦘🦘
