Very interesting, I find it very fascinating to see thriving communities that are so secluded and unknown to most people. I wish I was rich and just be able to travel the world.
Thanks a lot for your recording I'm very happy to see my Country again from what you had recorded thanks, and also I knew whose your driver because of his voice and I can guess it, is it Tekaai Mikaere? Yes it is!!
South Tarawa is the only urban place in the country that is heavily populated. North Tarawa and the rest all the other islands are sparsely populated and acquire a very different perspective of island life and island scenery, totally different from South Tarawa. Most foreigners arriving by plane from overseas have to enter Kiribati through Bonriki International airport situated in South Tarawa. It is common for foreign visitors to arrive at Tarawa and form an opinion that all of the islands are heavily populated and heavily polluted. This is not the case. Search on RU-vid about “Tabuaeran” and watch some vlogs about that island to see a typical island life and scenery that is void of urbanization. Tabuaeran and all other outer islands are probably the “paradises“ you envision.
