Drive from Reno to Lake Tahoe 

I like to add music that I was listening to when driving that route. It's good chill-out driving music.

I’ve done that drive. The fastest route is 95 - I don’t remember any views at all. You could go via Carson City - 580/395 - it’s only 1 hour longer. Might be real hazy right now though with the wildfires.

There were roadworks when I videoed this so it was slow. Normally it’s a one hour drive to Sugar Pine State Park from Reno. If you take the I-80 / Hwy-89 route there are no drop offs; 89 follows along the lakeshore. However if you’re going further south from Sugar Pine then there are steep drop offs like around Emerald Bay. If you’re going south though, then the drop offs will be on the other side of the road. But I really don’t think you’d like the return journey anywhere south of Sugar Pine.

It took 20% of the video to drive through Reno, I think I hit every red light on Virginia St. I haven’t been back since this video but I hope Lake Blvd is a stunning road after all the roadworks. It was about that time almost every highway in the country was being worked on.

Use Google maps. Reno to Sugar Pine Point State Park: right now Google recommends Interstate 80 to Truckee then 89, however traffic or road closures might change the situation .

Nope. Check Google maps for Reno to Sugar Pine Point State Park: I-80 to Truckee then 89 to Tahoe City is the fastest route. Nothing in the title suggests I was going into South Shore.

@@lostlakeOR The title said Lake Tahoe. But the faster and more direct route is Reno to Mt Rose Hiway 431 to 28. Far more scenic too. Google's AI is not the greatest...they cop out taking over boring Interstate hiways.
