Also... if you're looking for fun in the sun, the truckee river, hiking trails, pyramid lake, lake tahoe, fishing, and various other things are all in multitudes basically year round. When it's winter, add in all the snow sports, winter hiking and snowmobiling, ice skating and so on. Honestly, this area has just about everything.
Awww, the time when downtown Reno was the place to go for movie theaters, clothing stores and THE sporting good store. I don't remember its name. Plus we loved staying at the Mapes Hotel when visiting from Hawthorne!
I really enjoyed the fact that you liked the visit you had here. I am going to be honest with you, there is really is a lot more things to do besides hanging around the downtown area (where the murals, sculptures, and gambling companies are located). We have amazing off-roading trails, outstanding views of the Sierra Nevada's. And an Amazing Ski Resort such as Mt. Rose. We even take pride of having The Loneliest Road in America passing through half of the state itself.
Thank you so much for all of those tips! my bf lives in reno so im here alot but definitely would love to know more outdoor things to do right in reno...as opposed to Lake Tahoe....and your right reno has stunning mountain views 🙌
Reno-Sparks has a discovery museum, Rancho San Rafael, escape rooms, trampoline parks, malls, multiple arcades, hell even a waterpark. What are you not looking for and not finding? Disney world?
interesting video however it would have been great if you had included what the costs are like hotels, restaurants and a comparison in price between Reno & Vegas
I’ve been going to Reno since the early 70s through the 80s and 90s and even up to 2000. It was a booming town now all the casinos are dying off because of all the Indian casinos that popped up here in there around the country. I don’t recommend Reno for anything other than maybe the bike rally and even at that it’s not as good as it was Virginia cities OK still street vibrations they have a spring run and a fall run. That’s a good time. Good food lots of custom bikes.
So you haven't visited Reno since 2000? I am sure there are changes.... in 24 years there would have to be. I believe those changes are fundamentally for the good. I hear the city has most certainly economically improved the past several years. I might not all be due to casinos but it most certainly helps.
We have few bugs to bother us here in Reno. Low humidity, cool nights in the summer, central location means lots of event and activities are only hours away.
It gets busy in the summer with outdoor events. Virginia street is closed off during these events and there're many visitors, lots of food kiosks, retail vendors, food trucks, music bands playing... Events are Hot August Nights with classic cars, Italian Festival Street Vibrations(motorcycles), pub crawls, & many more.
