+Austin von Bargen i agree, a lot of people see him as a bad guy in the community and some people from way back with the whole struggle with him and dyrus back in what season 2 or 3? (cant remember) but Regi has worked hard and he continues to shock everyone
+Richard H Considering you have no backstage info except for tsm legends. How could you know? Looking at this all the other owners thought he was nice and good. And he is one of the smartest owners
Love him or hate him; Reginald is a legend of the League of Legends world and its biggest success story. He went from being just another player to building an empire from nothing. His legacy continues in his brand of TSM; both the team and company. They are the most popular team in NA and have consistently performed when it mattered. He, almost single-handedly, got the snowball rolling to this point; he carried. People like Bjergson and Dyrus kept his snowball rolling, but he made the snowball in the first place.
Are they though? Did you take a poll? The scenes in Korea and China are FAR bigger than in the western world. I'd imagine that a Korean team (Like SKT, for example) would have far more popularity. Even lesser known teams (in western cultures) like Rox Tigers and KT and CJ and such would actually be more popular in terms of numbers of fans, simply because of the sheer number of fans that the western world has in comparison to us. You could be right, but I seriously doubt it.
TSM is the first ever professional competitive team to be created for League of Legends. They have fans not only in NA but across all of Europe and Asia as well. Before the KR server was even released for League of Legends, TSM already existed and were the team that everyone across the world looked at and admired. Back then Korean players played on other servers because they didn't have a server to play on them self. Yes we're in 2016, so Korea and China are FAR more popular than they were before, in fact stronger regions as well. But TSM is still way up there when it comes down to popularity, despite the fact of how popular the game is outside of North America.
You mean created solely for League of Legends? Like, not already an established company? That is correct (as far as I know anyway) but also 100% irrelevant to whether or not they're "the most popular League of Legends name on the globe." which was the point you made and what I'm saying is actually wrong. Even though it was just an irrelevant detail to my original comment. Basically you're like "I agree with you, but I think it's even bigger than that!" but then unfortunately you're probably wrong. If you do the research and the maths and the definition of "popularity" then good for you; you may be right, but I don't care enough to look it up, nor continue this conversation, because right now we're both just making assumptions based on logic and somewhere along the lines one of us has misunderstood something or made a mistake and we've come to different 'facts'. I don't think it really matters anymore. GL on the rift, dude.
I really hope that was meant as a joke and you weren't trying to sound clever or talk down to me. "Don't assume things you know nothing about." The very next sentence you assume things you know nothing about...
One can say many things about TSM through the years and the whole Spring Split fiasco, but one can't also avoid admiring Andy for the hard work and all the way he has come. A story of success, despite everything.
It's unbelievable what Regi has built up the recent years. He handled everything, from sponsors to coaching (especially S2 & early S3), all on his own. Cant thanks Regi enough for creating TSM and giving us a team to cheer for!
+Zectorr™ why would you hate another challenger if you were? challengers don't always get along with each other but they would never flame each other on RU-vid
Say what you want but Regi is really the face of the NA LCS. He's done so much for the competitiveness of the region as a whole, and has really helped esports as a whole gain recognition
I've always looked up to regi...everything he's done for esports in NA and establishing himself and his company ...I've met him a couple times and he's such a nice dude ...say what you will but he started with the minimum and is doing big things ...
Everyone laughs at regi for being wukong which yeah is pretty funny but league wouldnt be what it is today if he never came onto the scene or founded tsm. theres a real legacy that has been built by him. otherwise people wouldnt be chanting tsm at a skt vs fnatic match
I have a lot of respect for this guy. He soaks up the hate for TSM when things aren't going well, and when TSM wins it's the players that get all the credit. Meanwhile he's kept things together for a looong time, recruited some of the best players, and all of his teammates have only good things to say about him. Not to mention the fact his "brand" is the most recognizable and entertaining thing in LoL Esports, love or hate.
Andy is an incredibly driven, motivated. He took a big risk that many would have told him not to do. He started with nothing and took his business to the top. Really inspiring, and motivating to see him work. Would love to be able to network with this guy.
Probably the best and my most favorite LCSDRIVE episode ever, because Reginald have had such a huge impact on the scene and generally the League of legends community.
+Moad Ben Reginald used to be known for his Twisted Fate play in a negative sense, that he would always pull a blue card instead the yellow to stun. Funny thing is that the rest of his play on that champion was actually really good, very agressive and set up TSM to win teamfights by going in hard and shifting the pace in teamfights / pressure around the map.
Wow, Regi slowly became one of my heros. He got his team (Now a thriving business) to where he it is because he wanted it. He was just a teenager when this all started, and he kept going because that's what he cared about more in the world. I love people who puts everything in their passion and makes it into something this globally loved. This dude is amazing.
+Ralf Thomas Tell me what defines ur ''league''? Just looks ? ofc success is going to be an important aspect since it says alot about person and also leena met reginald way before tsm became this succeful so stfu
+Ralf Thomas Funny you say that because she's been with him before he stepped in as a player. You can see in one of the videos around s1/2 where he goes and hugs her...think before you talk.
+Ralf Thomas It's really hard to tell if she truly like Regi or she's just with him because he has a lot of money. The same goes to the rich people with girls who are way out of the league...
I have to say, I used to hate Reginald (even though I'm actually a TSM fan). He just seemed more toxic and childish as a player while he was TSM's midlaner, than anything else. And a lot of the time if was always him causing the issues and rifts between the players because of this attitude. Ever since he retired and started to run TSM instead of also play (and of course gotten older and more mature), I've liked him a lot more. Regardless of if I like him or not though, got tremendous respect for a kid who took his dreams and goals, worked in his blood, sweat and tears and made it happen.
+Ctrl Alt Dfeat he still is childish. saw that one episode of tsm when they went out to eat for teambuilding. they went for sushi Dyrus told he really hated the sushi and it makes him nauseus, but then regi told 4 of the members voted for sushi so they are getting sushi, no matter what dyrus wants. so regi told Dyrus he HAD to come with the rest of the team. so Dyrus was there just watching other people eat while he got nothing at all. then afterwards dyrus had to go eat somewhere else on his own. i mean like what kind of a shit person is regi?
Also they have to do everything the way Regi wants, cause he doesn't listen to the players opinions. well he does but he discards them right away. and he's arrogant no matter what he achieve
Riot Games thank you for doing this DRIVE story on Andy Dinh! It was great to watch and it was produced incredibly well! As a TSM fan, I have always enjoyed Andy's presence. He makes a super good entrepreneur and did help build an industry of e-sports gaming. Would be interested in watching a HotShotGG story as well because he comes from the same background as Andy. Creating his own e-sports team when he was originally a player as well. TSM TSM
This guy is the figure we need to look up to as young people. instead of pointing out his flaws, just look at what he has achieved through his own passion. He is the Ronaldinho of eSports; he is a legend with a legacy.
I like drive stories like this more than the player ones. I feel like people like reginald took way more risk and had way more 'Drive' than other people. Not sayin LCS players are at a lack of drive, but at 18 years old this guy was MAKING his own team, not attempting to compete in someone elses.
+TetsuoNL Our entire occidental society is based on this conception of fame. Plus, in management school we learn that it's inefficient to have very difficult objectives/goals/whatever you want.
If you hate or like Regi, there is still the fact that he help to develop the esports that we enjoy today. And if weren't for him it would more than likely highly changed.
