Driver Ants 

Yep i still remember when I was a new person to the game.

Never played i just observe the game im that type of underground player

I for one had a lot of fun fighting off Army Ants in the Leafcutter levels. It will be interesting to try out various tactics against these marauding Drivers

They are gonna be worse but better at the same time. Since they can’t spiral out of control with attack buffs (no flashbuff for driver ant bois) they are gonna be attacking our termites as seen in the video. So they are gonna be adding more pressure while being easier to handle as a swarm.

I can already imagine one achievement for their mission be to prevent these guys from wiping out any termite colonies... I saw that one of their special abilities is some kind of knockback stun attack. That could be a problem, seeing how Leafcutters could already be a problem to face due to their potential to outlast you simply due to their high hp and the potential for stunlocking groups of ants. And there'll be a lot of Driver Ants on average, compared to Leafcutter Majors...

Best part is that it is nature inspiring art. Matabele ants do this irl as well. Heck the behaviours of the Matabele led to the game design we see for the level.

I wanted to see the situation when the queen is arriving and then suddenly the amount of driver ants has gone insanely innumerable because the queen has to constantly move out. I've seen their armies make a tunnel made of THEMSELVES trying to protect their precious queen as if it's a parade. Freaking insane

I think that's exactly what it'll be haha. You'll need to drive back (lol) the driver ants so that they don't completely destroy your food source, the termite mounds

how do yk about the levels?

@@jacoreycannon In the video showing the Matabele ant at the end you can see in the bottom left corner the map with 5 colonies and in a picture they posted shows 4 termite mounds, the rest is just speculation

@@anarchosnowflakist786But if they kill the termites, they can just keep moving to look for something else. Matabele ants are reliant on termites, so if the termite colonies are wiped out they’ll starve.

@@carrott36 yep, so the matabele have to protect the termites

They are actually as a gene theif species after you complete the full story and apparently by the looks of it they will be well rounded generalists

They farm caterpillars ?

@@alexmcdonald5083 they bring them to the nest, feed them leaves and the caterpillars reward the ants with honeydew sweat. Much like with aphids.

I think that's where the developers of grounded got the idea for their soldier ants , I think they should remodel the ants , in my opinion

I think they said no because they make bivouacs underground but perhaps they might be playable units

The music in the video helps to invision the level as such

Unless you are talking about the sun spider exept it isn't a spider.
