Wow!!! Ian’s comment on the 5th drive in the first round for PXG… “I missed it!” 311 yards dead on with the pin! Kind of hard to compete with that. Kudo’s to PXG for getting in the game and performing at such a high level!

Nice solo mission video! Well presented and had my attention all through. Such good product being spit out in the driver category in 2024 from all the brands. You cant go wrong with the right fit with any of these heads it seems.

Ian I love these videos so much, the only thing I would like to see added, if possible, is when you put the final scores on the screen, you could include the avg distance and avg offline numbers on the screen to give a better feel of the character of each driver and how the final score came to be what it is. Keep up the great work, and thanks for doing these brackets!

Not enough independent PXG black ops reviews. Been waiting for this. Might have to give it a go at some point. See if it can beat my 425.

PXG has to be given credit for pressing the envelope. They appear to have a really good team in both their R&D and Marketing. Parsons, regardless of what you might think of his in your face approach at selling his products, does in fact deliver with the engineers he has on board. I have a few mixed sets of Mizuno and PXG but woods were always Ping because of the obvious forgiveness and distance in the hands of a 72 year old. PXG is right there now and may need to make up a full bag of 0311s, combo XPs and Ps that I already have 6 - 9. I prefer Mizuno in the wedges. Golf.... what a wild ride !!!

Nice solo effort Ian. I would be weary on the comparison to scores in other rounds as we all hit differently everyday (even the pros). Happy to see PXG embracing other fitting companies.

Great job Ian!! I have a question about the Ping 430 driver. If you hit two balls perfect (robot testing) what change would you see in launch and ball speed if you lowered the back weight 8-9 grams??? Thanks!!!

Wow 2024 driver bracket is the year of the underdog! Never been a fan of pxg but you can’t ignore that performance. Are you using the rypstick for speed training?

Nice to see PXG earning more respect and recognition, too bad they don’t also come in at a lower price than the “big three” as it would be good to give them some more competition and maybe help pull driver prices back down a bit. Got fitted into the normal Black Opps driver a few weeks ago and I like the adjustability it offers with the three head weights.

Tried the Ai smoke max yesterday. I can’t see anything beating it but after watching the pxg…… gonna to be fun to watch the next round.

That PXG has just smoked everything that has gone through the bracket so far, it has to be the new favourite. The way Ian has hit the PXG surely it has to be in the conversation for his WITB.

I’m gaming the Paradym, looking to put it up against some of the new drivers see how it compares. This bracket has to be one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. They are all “top dogs”. I won’t be able to try the PXG wish is a shame. Be interesting to see which one is best for me.

I’m thinking about changing out my gen 5 0311 as I’m not getting on with it currently. On a bit of a speed journey at the moment so that could be why. Black ops looks like it will be in with a shout!

Having got fit into the standard black ops head it’s absolutely phenomenal - pxg have stacked up their lineup this year and I found the standard head kept the spin down well and was just as fast as the tour so I took the forgiveness option. Credit where due they’ve upped their game this year

Well I guess I’m taking the PXG $100 challenge. Currently playing the 0211 and know I’m losing distance to my buddies with newer drivers so was going to get fit. With the Heroes pricing some $150 less than all the others in the brackets it’s a no brainer. Thanks Ian!

I've followed the channel since its inception, and I don't think we have EVER seen a performance like this! The Ping flat out would have blown out every other driver so far, yet this round was over almost as soon as it started. Only way this PXG driver doesn't win is if you somehow lose your swing mid-round. "AMF technology" is really beginning to mean Adios Mother F.... 😂

@ianfrasergolf question? Based on your one 168mph ball speed shot it showed 296 carry. Is that realistic? Would that carry over to the course? With range balls I sit 171-173mph, and @ 10* of launch on a straight draw I’m get 283-289 carry. Am I missing something?

Dam it… I ordered some Gen5 irons and really like them.. I’m not in love with my Driver, and every review I see on the new black ops has me wanting to try it.. just don’t have the extra 600.00 for a Driver atm

Love the channel and watch every video but not sure why these two were paired up in the same bracket. Would have made more sense to me to pair up the ping 10k with the TM max. I think this was a missed opportunity to see the two 10K models battle it out and maybe come across a low spin tour head later in the bracket.

Thats a murder holy This kinda tracks to what I've seen with specifically 10k, I have not gotten many balls where im near like a 2k spin number, mainly it has just been like 2.5-3.3k for me, and it's just not quite what I want out of driver. Think it can be playable, just need it to have the right combo of shaft and head.

Do you think there is a case for particularly high tempo swingers to get a lot of benefit from the 10k, whereas smoother swingers who can keep things straighter may not need the stability?

To me the difference was spin. When the Ping spun closer to 2K, it rivaled the PXG in distance. Impressive by both clubs, really.

Ian you made a comment that gspro is 7 yards shorter than gcquad. Which is more accurate to real life carry distance?

Is there a chart somewhere that shows the effects of face angle and lie when adjusting the ping head? I have the g430 10k and currently play it in Flat and -1 setting to avoid the left. I played today and noted I was hitting bombs but they were pushes or baby fades landing in the right rough typically. My question is…if I put it to -1 degree and standard lie…the lie will be affected and give me a push draw right? Also…which setting has the face more open? -1.5 and standard lie or -1 flat lie? I Need to bring the ball back just a smidge.

Hats off to pxg, I was rooting for the ping because I’ve always played ping woods. I think you can see if your a good driver of the ball you can see the benefits of pxg but I think if you need help with driver ping showed you can get all that extra help but not loose a ton of distance.

Ping for me . But I'm really liking the PXG lineup.

have had great long term results w current gamer Ping G400max and looking forward to see if G430max will beat it out. PXG just not my cup of tea, very mixed results over the years, very mixed pricing, iron soles wear badly, and low trade in value, just not for me. Great review though and looks like you may have just had your final pairing?

Just wondering what balls you’re using ? Ball speed seems low for the swing speed. I’m assuming it’s a soft ball

Being a veteran, I am finding it difficult not to go to a PXG. It looks super impressive.

I'm getting fit for the pxg on Friday. Hoping I get similar results.

Maybe it makes sense for the first round to just be a ranking by score, and then pair the top 4 off and then group them for actual brackets. That way a high performer in the Ping wouldn’t be eliminated by a monster score when it was still higher than the rest.

I am not sure if you noticed but the launch monitor’s club selection for Ping was 3-wood, would that affect the results?

Why was the Ping data showing you were hitting a 3 Wood vs the PXG showing Driver? Does this throw off the calculations?

I'm new to golf, but why is the tour 1 being compared to a max 10k driver? I'm cool with any results but this confuses me as a new golfer.

Cool.... The 3 drivers that I would consider replacing my Titleist Tsi3 lost...... But I'm not Ian so this isn't a determining factor on my purchase.

Seems like both clubs gave you the confidence to hit away. I have to watch again and get a speed average because the pxg looked faster on average. Like you didn’t have a beach ball at the end of the shaft.
