If you are driving your car across please stay away from Trucks! On windy days That Driver Is Fighting Like Holy Hell to keep that Truck in the lane! It is Scary as Hell! Even though its faster, i checked the wind first! if its bad i go all the way around. Its not worth Paying to cross, being scared as hell, and maybe getting blown off the side! if you are empty, You shouldnt be able to use that bridge! Period
Got to respect truck drivers. Didnt realize what a pain in the ass it is to handle something that big till I drove a 30 ft. Motor home thru the Appalachian Mountains. Respect those drivers, and give them the room they need.
These type bridges are a joke they should have 10 ft high solid ass sides the whole stretch .. this isn’t some go off the road into the ditch scenario .. it’s into the ocean or 100 plus foot drop scenario.. I’m a truck driver who has gone over low side deep ravine bridges if it’s windy I drive right down the middle take both lanes
in fact now that I think of it. . he probably was dead but they wanted to make it seem like they are heroes. . we rescued him but he then died. . right. you probably pulled his deaf body out of the water
A woman saw him drive over the bridge she called 911 first responders did try to get there as fast as they could. It takes a little time to get there. It’s not a 10 second trip

It should have been closed to trucks prior. Its the bridge operaters fault
I’m a driver but it will surely throw u outta control and tip over the side .. those 3,4 foot sides .... slow is surely a must ,,,4 ways on and 30,40 mph max
This is EXACTLY what several witnesses said happened. They reported that he was speeding...going way too fast and tried to pass another 18 wheeler and apparently he over corrected. Subsequent investigations showed that the wind played absolutely no factor in the accident. 80-86 more rigs crossed the span of the bridge tunnel around the same time as he did (according to reports) and they all made it except for him.
