Can we just to talk a minute to appreciate that on any video on his channel, you can go into the comments and see that Tyler has responded to almost all of them. As well the comments on these videos are often so uplifting with encouragement and help for others when doing shocks, maintenance, visual appearance changes, and so much more. So cool to see that while RU-vid can be a negative place there are some absolutely gold mines in here. Tyler, keep up the good work sir and keep adding more miles to that 2uz. Better be a video when yours breaks 250k for your Quarter-Mill award!

Thank you Spencer! I really appreciate it, thanks for commenting! We will definitely have to celebrate at 250k miles haha

Good call on changing out those Auto-lite plugs with NGK. Spec is NGK or Denso.

Yup, I always opt for nice NGK plugs!

Great work! I installed a Fuimoto drain valve on my oil pan, it makes for incredibly easy oil changes as the skidplate doesn’t need to be removed. The oil filter can be accessed from the top. Transmission drain & fills are super easy, I do mine at every oil change. It really keeps it shifting smooth and is totally worth it.
@208Tyler
@208Tyler 10 месяцев назад
I do transmission drain and fills on an accelerated schedule, but not every oil change. It’s a good thing to get done for sure!

Perfect timing man - I have to do slip yoke and front diff/transfer case. I already did rear diff and learned that a new crush washer on the fill plug is a must - it will leak if you don’t change it.
@208Tyler
@208Tyler 10 месяцев назад
You know, the crush washers crossed my mind, and I didn’t do them. We’ll see if that turns out ok or not.

Thanks for all the good info! What’s the recommended fluid change schedule? I know the oil is every 5k miles, but don’t know any of the other recommended intervals.

I'm surprised you're not using the oem filters. The 90915-YZZD3 filters from Toyota are less than 8 bucks at Walmart, and my local dealer. Also, if you put your truck in neutral, you can move the Axel wherever you'd like.
@208Tyler
@208Tyler 10 месяцев назад
I use them often, but didn’t order ahead or want to run to Walmart where I can get them locally. Just happened to have this filter this time. Oh. Duh. Good catch

Did you figure out the front diff fill plug. I would suggest spraying some sea foam deep creep on it and letting it soak a little before trying it again.

you may want to look at the extra long ratchets from Tekton....they have a 3/8 & 1/2 version....those slips look like colorful language was edited out ;)
@208Tyler
@208Tyler 10 месяцев назад
Ya. Something between a breaker bar and typical ratchet might be nice!
@FreedomLovinLady
@FreedomLovinLady 9 месяцев назад
I had to take mine to a shop to get the rear dif fill and drain off. I don't have an impact wrench, and the extended brake bar, bolt lube, hammer tapping and making the right faces just wasn't working 😂. I guess the last shop overtightened them, but the local mech fixing something else for me did it fit no extra charge so I could change the rear dif oil myself 🎉. Still need to do the front dif and transfer case... looking at rhino plastic ramps to give me some more room under there, I don't own a real jack, always borrowed my brother's. Any thought on the 12k lbs rhino ramps?
@morkmckerr
@morkmckerr 9 месяцев назад
@@FreedomLovinLady I have the rhino ramps... They have a little bit of rubber on the edge so they do not walk on the smooth concrete when you try to drive up them.....I like them, get the wheel chucks too, unless you already have them.... As always make sure you are within the weight limits of them...
@FreedomLovinLady
@FreedomLovinLady 9 месяцев назад
@@morkmckerrthanks for the info, I drive a gen 1 Tundra too, so the 12k lbs ramps should hold no problem, it's just taking that step in something outside of my normal wheelhouse that causes me to put in extra research time 🙋‍♀️😊

For the front diff drain plug, an air hammer at a slight incline to the inner side of the plug worked for me with a totally rounded plug. Could do with a chisel an hammer, too.
