I luv how I would get run down going up hill in Tennessee pulling only 13k lbs by 379s and W900s that I know were pulling 40k lbs + easy. That CAT power is something to behold.
Spend enough money and anything can have power. Remember this...every guy with a cat supposedly has 700+ horsepower on just a tune. You can tell who really makes big power by talking to a guy, big power costs big money and is more than "just a tune". These c18 cats are 800hp stock, they are savage. I spent a lot of time and money on our 12.7 Detroits and they will out pull a lot of guys who claim to have big power but I know when I run up on guys with real big horsepower because they just pull like freight trains. Our trucks are over 700hp and I've run up on guys with built C15s and a few c16 cats, and they weren't joking around. The biggest power truck I've owned was an 08 389 with an isx600, we had it torn down, VGT turbo removed, all the emissions removed, new cam, etc and a tune. That truck was 1100hp and was absolutely beast mode.
Back in the day I use to roll dem 500hp Cat's. But them dudes w the 550hp Cat's for example Flagstaff would just Skywalk everything. I use to run an 04 W9 miss that trk!!!! Thumbs up everywhere. People in the office Clearwater FL came out to take a photo in front of it. The good ol days
Once you go 36XX/6NZ/C15 there's no going back. I haul mostly reefer containers over the Appalachians. 80k all day everyday. DDs and X15s struggle hard. A C15 doesn't care especially with a rerate.

By the way, it doesn’t matter what horsepower you have it’s all about the torque. If you don’t have the right driveline and tranny and rear end all you’re doing is killing that truck.
I'd buy a Pete over a kW any day. They are notoriously piles of shit. Lower fenders slap around, causing the hood to beat the shit out of the cowl, rivnuts almost always break when changing the visor, one piece hood and fenders are expensive to replace if you are hit or blow a steer tire. Peterbilt fenders are replaceable separate from the hood. Grilles rattle loose, chrome starts to rust and they are cool but they don't bring peterbilt money when resale comes along. The Pete in my pic is a 2018 389, was a factory built truck with a paccar engine. We pulled the engine and all emissions equipment, bought the glider conversion kit and installed a built 3406E. Retitled in Pennsylvania as an "assembled vehicle" and the title shows 2021 peterbilt, 100% legit loophole for a "glider" truck, 😂. And it will always be worth more than a w9.

@@TheRoadhammer379 you are absolutely right a Peterbilt does hold it’s value better over a kw, if you try to order a new truck the peterbilt goes higher brand new, also there is a reason why paccar decided to keep peterbilt exclusive for the United states and not send overseas.
