That was so very interesting John. As a crew member I’ve only entered a harbour at night once, Chichester Harbour. The skipper was newly qualified and I must admit I found it a bit stressful as he did too. However you explained this really well as you always do, many thanks
Very nice. I think the best planning is when you incorporate safety first. I know that I would have to cut short activities in order to be back at the marina before dark, but that is just me. Well done sir!
Unlit obstacles at night are TERRIFYING. I thought i saw something out my peripheral once... Waited a long time then my imagination thought i saw a body hanging off a crucifix... Actually just managed to go on the same bearing as a line of pots. I security'ed them because unlit at night near a port entrance could foul up somebody (or indeed, me!)
Love these "How To" videos. Im sure the light was needed for the video, but can't help wondering how your night vision was kept as every so ofter you get a nice light burning into your eyes.... Well done Capt.
