Driving a Full Bolt-On 2011 Lexus IS350 F-Sport! 

So I'm waiting on my figs sway bar end links. Is it daily-able since there spherical-type bushings? I lowered my GS on BC coilovers with a 14k front and 12k rear swift spring rate. I also swapped the stock sway bars for an f sport front and rear kit that reduces the exaggerated body roll a bit more

@@oreoremix42 Yes. I got the adjustable ones from Figs. They haven't shipped them yet cause they're waiting on a shipment of materials. At $380 though, I was wondering what kind of life I'll get out of them, since they are kinda pricey. I was told to occasionally lubricate the spheres with grease.

@@crimsonsr20 they should last a long time being metal. Just remember to set your away bars level when installing them. You don't want stock length because you'll preload the bars before you even go anywhere

kyle Kilmore kyle, have you tried going in to the dealership to get the dash and door panels replaced just for kicks under the enhancement extended warranty zlz program? From your video your dash looks good but a new dashboard and door panels would make your interior look newer and up the value. My driver side door panel handle where the silver trim is at is worn out and there is a like clicking rattle on my dash driver side thats comes on and off. I tried two dealerships and they didnt want to honor the warranty becuase my dash wasnt showing symptoms. I will try a third dealer this week. I also have a 2012 lexus is350 f-sport

@@unknownsource4359 I worked in service at my local Lexus dealership and I know for sure they wouldn't replace mine. It's basically in perfect condition. The interior in this video hadn't been cleaned for awhile so it looks a little rough in comparison

300hp isn’t fast...is it still fun yes but it’s by no means fast in today’s day and age when most modern cars now a days make 300hp. When you’re only able to keep up with regular traffic that’s not “fast.”

@@ahmadalsheikh4236 I kept my IS350 stock throughout my entire ownership (2009-2019) and used premium gas only. The only modifications I had were that I slapped on some F-sport sway bars.

same trying to find a substitute but it’s hard factoring reliability with performance.

@Alex Shafer they can be fast with some bolts on, do you have the 06-08 those fast compare to the 11

@Alex Shafer not necessarily fast but they can be quick and there’s supercharger kit to make horsepower but you know what that happens you loose reliability, same with your amg that thing is supercharged to be able to be “fast”

@@bulletis3503 I've considered it but I want to see if there is enough verifiable data on the potential gains before doing so. So far, it sounds like a ported upper intake manifold will net an approximate 5rwhp gain.

@@bulletis3503 Yeah, but I believe he's also using a higher octane fuel blend with a custom tune to further advance the ignition timing so it's tough to make a direct comparison on the peak benefit of the ported intake manifold itself. If others can get their build to those rwhp levels while staying naturally aspirated, it will be quite the feat for the 2GR 3.5L.

@@natedawg0215 just had to do a transmission fluid change 3 days ago. It was burnt and kept throwing a code for a stuck solenoid. So far about 200 miles and doing good! 🤞🏼

I’ve only driven mine, one in California and this one 😂 But yeah you hit a wall with mods and length of ownership and want to upgrade at some point

It takes the ambient air under the seat (which is typically cooler) and it is officially called ventilated seats. If you live in a warm or humid area, very useful option to have.

Yes true - “cooled” seats in which it can blow cool air through the ventilated parts. Definitely not cooled like the modern GM seats though

winter tires + chains will do wayy more than any AWD setup. Also, the AWD IS350s can't compete with the RWD 2IS

Lexus’s are very reliable, just make sure you get the proper maintenance and it’ll last you a long time

Will never do business with them again. They sold me the wheels on this car and we're not even remotely helpful to me

About the same car but little upgrades and changes, plus his is very modified

Pretty reliable being a Toyota product! Gotta run 93 gas and oil is 6.7 quarts so not the cheapest oil changes but not bad either. Insurance isn’t terrible and mpg is like 23 depending how you drive. Other than that - alternator and water pump just need replaced at some point and it’s good to go

Hmm that’ll be really loud and raspy. If anything just changing the mufflers to a performance style muffler with more flow will help. Mid pipe doesn’t do much in my experience

It has a traction control off button like my 07, but I didn’t want to push my luck. I think only the 06 needs the pedal dance

@@MartyMotoring my 06 IS350 has the button as well but it doesn't fully turn off the traction control like the pedal dance .

@@PResmejor yup that’s an 06 thing. 07 and up, you can hold the traction button for 10 seconds and it disables it all. I only know this because friends with 06 models pointed that out and we tested it lol

5 months ago I bought a modded 2012 is350 f-sport like the one on the video. I should have done my intensive research on the IS line up before I bought the car and just go straight to the ISF. Now Im selling my is350 to get an ISF.

I am a sucker for V8s

tough... IS F runs 4.3s 0-60 & 12.8s quarter mile, while a 2IS is capable of 4.8s 0-60 & 13.4s quarter mile (stock). With the mods on this IS, I could take either tbh, but I'd probably lean toward the IS F just because it's pretty rare. Those things still go for $30k+

Not that simple. I got my 11 with 30k miles for 30k and if I wanted something as well maintained and low mileage I would have spent a lot more money for an isf. The isf isn't drastically faster, just sounds better and has more room for hp increase. But that extra weight of the isf and all my mods the cost doesn't make sense...

kyle Kilmore you got your is350 basically brand new at 30k miles. I got my 2012 is350 f-sport for $11.5k at 123k miles this year here in Cali. Well kept ultra reliable. The mileage does break the ice on the price of the car. Your is350 is a keeper for real especially now that you modded it to your own preference. Let alone all the money you spent, its dedication , time and execution. Sweat. Its not easy modding your car. It takes calculation. I did it to mine as well ever since I got it. Basically since the pandemic started I just kept modding it. Already poured like 5gs on it. The joeZ catback alone netted me $1,600 plus the f-sport intake another $400. $2k right there just for some sound. Plus $1000 on a carbon fiber steering wheel. $600 for the grom vline2 infotainment system. Well worth it tho. Also got the full carbon fiber body kit like you. Another $700 right there. Vland heads and tails another $800. The rest just for aesthetics. I mention all this Just to put into perspective our dedication to our cars that no one understands. But I still want the IS-F. I didnt do my research prior to getting this is350. If anything I would have waited out for an ISF opportunity. No regrets though.

Yup all the ISes had a f sport version since like 2011 or so. Then there is the ISF which is a separate model.

Hey there! So this video is pretty old. I ended up buying the car and supercharging it. It made 282whp with full bolt on, and now makes 429hp to the wheels with the supercharger kit.

How much did that run you and is it a 1.5 or a 2 way diff? Also whats it come with stock cuz it doesn't behave like an open diff? I plan to do some power add ons later so I've been preparing the suspension for it on my GS350

@@crimsonsr20 this ran me 2700 Canadian pesos haha. Way more than it should have. 300+ for duties, 300+ shipping and then conversion. Its 1650USD for the superlock. I will be having it installed soon likely/hopefully. For the GS/IS its a more tricky job. Requires tight tolerances, machining the housing to fit and new seals. Not your typical garage job. I would recommend a shop that has either done this specific job or is a performqnce differential/transmission shop.

@@crimsonsr20 yeah the one on RR is the cusco. I heard the OSgiken is better but wouldn't know. They are priced the same and both are credible and reputable companies that are proven. I believe it all comes down to tuning them as they are all tunable. Different clutching setups and cone rings for locking speeds.

IS is RWD or AWD and has a more powerful V6 in the older models. ES is a front wheel drive car. IS is supposed to be more sporty.

Daniel Coss don’t do a full flush, just drain and replace the transmission fluid, these cars are known to mess up a bit if you do a full flush

I believe the Camry’s V6 is is transversely mounted (sideways) due to it being FWD, so it’d be a whole different thing unfortunately

Yes. But 2011 had bubbling issues, so you want 2012/2013. You're looking at $1k used if you can find them. Which is why everyone throws the nappy aftermarket ones on for $300-500 and have inferior road lighting performance compared to stock.

@@MartyMotoring in probably going to replace my 2015 jetta 1.8t with a Lexus IS 350 gen2, really not sure how fast they are, I’ve seen lots of different reports online. All the way from 4.6second 0-60 to 7second 0-60

It means every bolt on upgrades you can "bolt on" the car is bolted on lol. So with the is350 that would be a full exhaust (intake, headers and exhaust)

I bought it about 4 months ago from a lady that had all Lexus maintenance done, garage kept and only had 57k miles on it. So it was a no brainer. I’ll probably keep it till it dies or I give it to one of my 4 kids. Lol

@@MartyMotoring yeah, but im not speaking literally, just in psychological similarities each phrase holds to the ones that use them to direct a targeted impression of something. in the case of the media (anti-gun) they used "full semiauto" to sound scary so the karens of the world would get all sensational about it. no, i get it. i just chuckle any time i hear/see the phrase "full bolt on" in the same light. to the concept that someone somewhere had a need to coin a phrase between fully built and stock that held itself in some unusual halfway reverence. I've always found cars that are "full bolt on" to basically be stock. but with very expensive parts that for the trade off of being less labor intensive and having minimum gain, you nonetheless gain "something" + the bragging rights of having modified your car without having to go through being down for months or going all-in with it.
