Speaking as a 90's boy racer, the cosworth was a brilliant car. Trouble was there was a lot of them about. So instead of buying one I bought a Lancia Delta Integrale. What a special car that was. Wish I still had it as now worth a fortune. If you've not driven one on your channel, i highly recommended it

I’m abit younger than you, I couldn’t drive until 2001, anyway my older sister had boyfriends with these old fords(not old back then I guess). I remember being in the back of an XR4 doing 130-140, down the dual carriageway quite often when I begged my sister to come out with them. Ahh those were the days of no speed cameras etc 😁😂

Never got a Cossy, but I owned 2 Sierras (an 89 and a 91, both sedans, or Sapphyres on the other side of the pond) and it is the best car I ever driven. Thank you for describing the driving feeling. Helps me remember it again how it felt driving it. The 89 lacked power steering but it didn't need it at all. I really want one again, but first I need more money to bd able to take care of it properly.
@dunc71

All Sierra's are sedans.. or saloon in UK, basically meaning the engine, diver and luggage all have separate compartments. Compared to a hatchback or estate. Sapphire was just a high end version of the Sierra.

A great video! Hi Becky, You are getting the attention off the older guys because we were 30 years younger when these cars were being built and we loved them! Get out in some more classic Fords and we will love it! In it's day this car was just what the young family man who liked fast Fords really wanted! The small rear spoiler was just right being nice and subtle and not boy racerish!

What a fantastic video, not seen your channel before just found you lol. People were definitely right to say get your hands on a proper ford and this is one of the best you've chosen. The Cosworth name is legendary and stirs memory's of Sierras and Escorts as well as words like Cossie and whale tail. My old 1991 Sierra Sapphire went to Ireland when I sold her 2 years ago somewhere near Belfast. Now you need to get your hands on and drive the best car ford ever made which is the legendary ford Capri! It's a shame you don't live over in England near the Midlands otherwise I would let you take one of my Capri collection out for a spin. ;) x

The bodykit did just about enough to keep it on the floor. Just ask South Wales Police. They had one dekitted and crashed it in a short amount of time. The Saff generated more natural downforce, so needed less wing. I have 4 Sierras, all hatches, all had that shape steering wheel fitted. Best car steering wheel I ever had (ebay bargain!). Good-good, now you adjusted to the local habits! Are you moving here? What's the story with the yellow reg?

Great video. I wanted to get one of these back in about 1990 when I would have been 22 but was quoted 4K for the insurance! Brings back some happy memories of my youth. A great era with some fantastic cars and no speed cameras. Sadly joy riders started targeting hot hatches and performance saloons/coupes and insurance premiums went through the roof.

That looked like an 80s car to me, wheels, lights, plate surround, dash, interior etc etc

For me the Sierra was my father's car. but it was the exact opposite of this one : 2.3 Diesel. she was a dog, painfully slow, noisy and smelly. back in a day, my dream car was the 205 GTI 1.9

I had a Sapphire years ago. Ok but nothing special. 3 door is the proper one. Funny how times change. My wife’s Abarth would leave one on a country road these days. 😄
