Good insight. Great video. In March I took delivery of my refreshed M3 LR ( first EV) absolutely love it. It is so fast, quiet, very comfortable. I love the tech, minimalism. Being part of the Tesla family 👍🏻😎
I may have answered those questions a bit better here. At least the driving per day one. Hotels I just randomly booked along the way so I will have to look into what they were lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-odDxymGiLnM.html
You can skip a stop, it will just recalculate your next stop. Although I found that you end up charging longer at the next stop which takes away the time saved sometimes.
Its a bit nerve wrecking to know that glitches like the one you experienced with charging can happen with EV's especially on long journeys. Its good that you had a CCS adaptar as a backup but what would you have done if you didnt have one?In my opinion thats where ICE has its advantages on long journeys you dont really have to worry about technical glitches at every single gas station you pass. I feel that if you didnt have the CCS you could have possibly been stranded or had to resort to using Level 2 chargers for long periods of time which would have been such a headache and very time consuming
Yeah glitches like that can be a bit stressful. Being prepared in advance is always good. At least there is an option of even a slower charger as opposed to the situations I have encountered in the past of running into closed gas stations where I can not get gas at all. I would still much rather travel with the Tesla :) I am heading back to Florida and Nashville this summer to test things out with the whole family and testing the efficiency.
I go over things a bit more in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-odDxymGiLnM.html But stopping every 1.5-2.5 hours depending on. Tesla has you stop a bit more often and charging for less time to keep the overall trip shorter. Of course you can skip a charge and keep going but I have known people that have done it and have more range anxiety and it ends up taking the same or even longer of a time.
I’m currently getting the same error you got and I didn’t travel outside of Canada…so as you stated the solution for you was to just reconfirm the address in your profile and that cleared the message in the car? Appreciate your reply and keep up with the videos
Yes so I was able to do that to reset it. If that does not work call this number((877) 798-3752) and then hit 2 at the first menu and then 3. At least that is how I got through to the right people to help me fix the issue last time I had it. Thanks for watching and I will get back to making more content soon! Appreciate you!
Hey! RU-vid recommended me this video on my feed and its really well presented! Kudos to the work that you're doing 😊 Actually I had some thoughts to share about your youtube channel! but I'm not really sure if it is the best time?
10 seconds for me. i plug the car when i get home and unplug it when i leave in morning. car heats up in 30 seconds in the winter and i don’t have to drive to a gas station to fill up. people need to stop judging a EV in the worst case scenario ie long road trips, hauling trailers, and focus more on the everyday driving. i’m 55 now, been driving since i was 12, competed in many motor sports, and after owning a tesla, i will never go back to ICE.
@@RickyLourenco good for you, champ. I'm not sure why you think ICE drivers make special trips to fill up though. When I'm starting to run low (I can go 1000km between filling) I check an app before I leave to get the best price on the ROUTE I'M ALREADY TRAVELING. And unlike most EV drivers I've come across, I've never had range anxiety.
Then I have to worry about oil changes, stopping for gas, maintenance and repairs with a vehicle with way more parts than an EV. Even with a minor hiccup on this one side of my journey I will from now on opt to take an EV on my long distance trips.
Funny, I drive from Sarasota to Sarnia SW Ontario with no problem. I'v e also drove from Sarnia to Parry Sound, again no problem. We even drove through the Highlands NC, with excellent mileage in the hills, over 210 miles that time. I do this 2 times a year as I have homes in both Sarnia and Sarasota. This is a FL car
Same trip in Europe where gas/petrol is at least 50% more expensive. Imagine the savings! We drove our model 3 from Örebro, Sweden to Hamburg, Germany last year. Was so easy and relatively inexpensive.
As a Corolla hybrid driver myself, I'm genuinely curious about WHY EV enthusiasts put up with the level of nonsense that comes with driving EVs? It really seems that they are nowhere near ready for the mainstream, and at those prices it would be far cheaper for me to drive my Corolla. Here in South Australia it's about the same per km as running a Model 3, but the Corolla cost a bit more than HALF as much to buy. The Corolla has a tiny (43L) tank, but can go over 1000km on that much fuel (I get 4.1L/100km). To go 2,400km I would have only filled TWICE on the way (not 5 times), and it would have used under 100L of fuel. At current US gasoline prices ($US3.50 / gal) , that 100L would cost $US92.35 ($CAD125.60). And BTW, electricity is sold per kWh (kilowatt-hour), NOT per kW (07:24). As an electrical engineer I find it grating when people don't know the difference.
this level of charging is usually only for road trips. most of the time the car charges overnight and will run all day without charging. my m3 has 80000 km and i’ve only fast charged it 10 times. his point is that you can road trip an EV and not be worried. as a electrical engineer you should be proud how far EVs have come and will go with all this new investment.
@@RickyLourenco yes, some of the technologies in EVs are impressive. That doesn't mean they're the best choice for everyone (or even a majority of people).
I personally have found the Tesla to be way better for my daily use than any other vehicle I have owned prior. I will always continue to own an EV for a daily vehicle after living with one.
@@teslasincanada glad to hear it's working out for you. Just as long as you don't try to force everyone else to buy EVs, the way that many leftist tyrants are trying to do.
