Further separating yourself in the community. This is very literally content you can’t see anywhere else. Your dedication, passion and professionalism are always on full display Tim, thnx for bringing these videos to us
I'm so glad this car hasn't become a safe queen that no one would dare drive again. It's a car, it's designed to be driven and should be driven. Thumbs up to Porsche for recognising that and trusting it to Smee so that we can also enjoy it through him. My respect for Porsche went up massively.
Back in the day we only had pictures of the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion. Thanks to you Tim, we can hear what it sounds like driving this amazing car!
This kind of comment has probably been written thousands of time but... I still find amazing after all these years and the growth that your channel has known that you are still genuinely passionate about sharing your excitement and passion about sportscars Eventhough you have a 2+ millions sub channel you keep being yourself in a humble way, not exagerating anything. I wish you keep sharing such moments with us these opportunities you get that we can't even think of... this is pure joy & happiness
@@nathanthomson777 Well this 911 GT-1 is one prototype as well locked in Porsche Museum.. so fingers crossed for Tim to accomplish his dream to review such crazy rare expensive vehicles and to bring us with him along the way..
Seriously! Wow! You’re living the dream. I went the Stuttgart for 7 hrs to see both Porsche and Mercedes, flipped a coin and went to Porsche first. Spent 6.5hrs at Porsche. So many amazing cars. I took 600 photos. Loving living vicariously through your experience. Closest I got was to hire the Panamera. Just a wow moment. Thanks for sharing Tim.
I know what you mean, Oliver, but that ought to be 'ALWAYS fails to disappoint',🙂 i.e. always succeeds in FAILING to be disappointing, or 'never succeeds at being bad'.
It’s not very often I’m jealous but this is one of those occasions. That intro and the wall of cars behind you was breathtaking. What a legendary car the GT1 is. Some of your stats on the GT1 were a bit off but I’ll forgive you as you are the stat man 99% of the time (1st gen 996 front and rear lights on that car)
No way, that’s insane. How the hell did this happen. The workshop even and driving that insane car. Wow I have seen them move it and thought I was lucky, it’s a mental thing
My goodness. Let's think about this for a second, so you've driven the CLK-GTR, the 911 GT1, two of the three most famous cars in motorsport. Guess which one is left? When the day comes for you to drive that, you'll have driven the three legends. That's truly special for me to even think about.
My father was a master mechanic, foreign and domestic, specializing in Porsche/VW. I grew up around the cars at the shop, and at the race track! Thank you, my dad is old now and I send him your videos! Cheers!
This is a prototype from 1997 with 996 front end, the proto from 1996, should have the 993 headlights, and this is not the case plus the plate would be 196 instead of 197.
@@SenszR it’s not a 993 chassis at all, the front part of the chassis is based on a 993, but the whole chassis in general is not the same as any 993 car.
I was choking from the excitement at the beginning, Tim's expressions and voice tone really made me smile, and I'm so happy that I could experience this legendary moment all thanks to his dedication to the channel and his followers, thank you!!!
Just now, I was watching your story on Instagram, and I didn't wait long until I got notifications, but is interesting about it is that the car has same wheels as the new turbo s model's I don't know is the new models had inspired by this or it's the opposite
@@MrB590 he claimed this was the 993 version instead of the 996, which is completely wrong there was a 993 version with 993 front and rear lights but it clearly wasn’t this car, I can assure you none of this car is “993 based”
Meanwhile other people milking modification car content Tim bring us access to ultra rare cars that hardly for normal folks to not even see or maybe heard of it.
That looks like the 996 front to me. I still have magazines from the 90s of the first prototype in white with the 993 round headlights. I could have sworn i saw it or a race conversion in one of your videos from a middle eastern collection a couple years ago.
Massive oof! The GT1s been my (multiple) lottery-win-car forever. This and a CLK GTR, perfect 2 car garage. I wonder how this worked insurance wise tho 😂
WOW. There’s no words here to describe what an absolute DREAM this is for so many people. You never cease to surprise, Shmee. Definitely a moment to pinch yourself, that’s a memory for the books! Amazing content, cheers shmee🎉
Absolutely thrilled by this video! The sheer joy is palpable every time you shift gears; it's an immersive experience, feeling the intense vibrations even through the audio. Truly remarkable!
You talked about this one being one of two based on the 993, but this has 996 headlights? The 993 has round headlights, like the one owned by the the_collection1 in Bahrain
I'm from Florida. Visited your city in December to see Nightwish. I also went to the Mercedes Museum and had a private tour of the Porsche Museum. My guide took me to the area that Tim was in. UNFORGETTABLE!!! I want to go back again...especially at Christmas!!! You guys know how to do Christmas!!!
Just an F1 to go! My favorite era of cars as a kid. I'm looking to buy some models of the Lemans winning cars from 95, 96. Plus I want a 787B to go on my home office desk.
I will always remember my first car magazine purchase when I was 9-10 years old. DuPont Registry, and on the cover was a red version of this exact car for sale at $1,000,000 . Imagine the value of these cars now, totally incredible.
❤😂😂😢😮😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 now floored and into 160 to 190 because it will do it. I know you gotta take it easy my bad I’m sorry. Take care. I love that Porsche.
Bro I couldn’t even watch after you got the headlights wrong. As much of a car aficionado as you are I cannot believe you got the headlights wrong (those are the 996 headlights, not the 993). I understand you were probably nervous but still…
❤😂😢🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😮😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 I want to see you drive some more rare Porsches keep up the good work with the videos and I hope you do all of your videos with Porsches with other cars cars. I do not want to see only Porsches take care and have a blessed week.
The fact that you’ve acknowledged none of the comments correcting you about the headlights. You should have immediately corrected yourself and pinned the admission to the top so we could all move past it. Some of us are extremely passionate about this car and that was just perturbing.
I saw the thumbnail for this video and I just yelled OH MY GOD!!!!!!! IT'S MY FAVORITE 911 EVER MADE!!!!!! The Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion is not only one of The Holy Trinity cars, but in my opinion, it's without a doubt one of ze most Schön (beautiful) and einzigartig (unique) Porsches ever built.
