first visit to ocean grove was in 1965.. we went every summer after that till i graduated from college in 1982. lots of fond memories of the time that we spent there! jt
I’m old enough to remember the chains being up to keep cars out on Sundays. When U.S. Grant paid a visit on a Sunday, he had to leave his buggy outside the gates and walk in like everyone else.
Spent many a summer visiting my grandparents there in the 70's. The had a house on Cookman. I remember that they really shut the place down on Sundays.
Thank you so much for watching. Ocean Grove is such a beautiful town, I really enjoyed driving around and admiring the beautiful old houses. Thank you for your memories too.
My grandmother lived here during the 1940s. She would sometimes be late getting her car out in time on Saturday night, and rebel that she was, would drive right through the the chains at the front entrance.
