@@edwinsmith2827Try making yourself needed at undesirable restaurants like McDonald's or Taco Bell. I get the requests because I'm sure others declined them for the long wait lines that can be. I sometimes get orders from non busy restaurants that are nearby. I recommend not staying in 1 spot, but chasing around the hotspots. Because restaurant busyness changes often. I had a customer ordering a gift tray of really expensive cookies. She messaged me asking not to let them put a receipt on the box. I said no problem. I carry labels just in case, so I made a gift tag for her and I had gold ribbon leftover from Christmas, took thirty seconds and made a bow. An hour later, a $20 tip was sent to me. The little things matter! Not even a minute of work got $20 and the customer felt special. Win-win 😊

I had to learn declining orders the hard way as I used more gas. Uber automatically bumps up the price during surge if you decline it so it goes to the next driver at higher price. Don’t make the same mistake and make sure you decline low offer orders so the price can get bumped up.

I appreciate your videos Mike, started DoorDash last year and switched over to Uber Eats in February after trialing both together for a few months. I employ a lot of what you talk about in my own way already so it's nice to have some confirmation on what I was already doing. Learning some new tips and adjusting my processes based on your vast knowledge and experience is a big help as well, Thank You! Been making a consistent $25/hr + since I switched away from DoorDash and just had my largest day of $318.74 in 11hrs 15min total online time last Saturday.

I also had a customer lie to Uber and say someone else was using my account, give me a thumbs down and remove their tip for an order that took over 1hr to complete then got a $27.04 McDonalds order for 0.6 miles later that day. Happened on the Saturday mentioned above. If you're out there hustling and come across someone like this, make sure to ''''calmly'''' explain the situation to a support representative and know that the good vastly outweighs the bad!

Dollars to mile is the golden ticket. Make way more that way because you'll usually not be too far from the restaurant you started at. I try to not go over 4 miles ever unless it's 2+ per mile on the offer. But the only time you stray from that would be high dollar orders that put you in a zone near a plaza with restaurants. Doing these will increase the amount of time your receiving orders/taking orders as well as your daily total ✌
@Adamhc75
@Adamhc75 2 года назад
My opinion on shop and pay orders are if it's a super slow lunch period and it pays more than 2 dollars a mile and 20 dollars an hour I MAY consider taking it on. Also the same goes for late at night if the frequency of orders have dropped to less than one every ten minutes I may accept one for my last order if the ending destination is close to my home.

I don't take many shop/pay orders unless I'm delivering near my house. My town specifically isn't super busy, but if I multi-app I can make 2.50 - 3 dollars a mile when I incorporate some shop/pay orders. It's definitely dependent on the area you're in. I usually drive a few miles away to an area that covers a few 100k people, so I rather focus on quick orders, but with adapting different strategies the shop/pay orders can be quite beneficial.

My number 1 tip: Don't take pre-planned Walmart orders There are always way more items than it says, often won't all fit in your vehicle. Nearly impossible to keep them separated when there are more than 3 or 4 at once. They give crappy tips, if any at all. It takes far longer to pick them up. Instead take them only if they come up during your normal day and if they show pay for about double what a normal delivery would be, and not more than 2 at a time.

Hi Mike, great video. I have a few questions if I may. I only want to drive part-time in my local area. 1. Can I not accept any orders outside my area? If so, how many times am I allowed to do this? I agree with your dollars-to-miles ratio and don't want to put a lot of miles on my car. 2. Does uber eats let you know that an order has been accepted by another driver when you try to accept the same order? That way you don't drive there for nothing. 3. What happens if you make a delivery correctly, but the customer claims that they never received it? I see videos of drivers taking a photo, but it doesn't prove you are at the right location. 4. Does uber track your vehicle to prove you are at the correct address? 5. How flexible is the work schedule? Thanks, Mike, I appreciate your help.

1. Sometimes u accept and do other stuff so when u get there is there.. and If it takes long leave it 2. Only pick up in affluent areas where the distance and money makes sense 3.don’t pick up long distance orders

I'm in Montgomery Al and I have seen huge surge like $21 and I have gotten it before but it was only uberx and it's only late at night when nobody is out driving. I am new to your channel so I don't know if you have covered it but the thing plaguing me the most right now is these low super low orders. Like $2 low. I recently saw on another channel to just not accept them which is a temporary almost fix, but any insight on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the tips Mike! I've had issues determining what the surge is for when both Uber Eats and UberX are activated on the app. It would be helpful to know because if it's for Uber Eats then I would turn off UberX for a while, or the other way around. I asked customer support about this issue and they said if you see a surge then it is for both UberX and Uber Eats. We had a $12 surge one time so I signed into Uber eats only and I received standard pay. From experience, do you have any knowledge as to how to differentiate what the surge is for? Or was the customer service representative right?

when u signed in where you in the surge area or next to it... was it overtop of your current location because i see you said we had a surge and u signed into uber eats did. i believe there is a misunderstanding on your end with the app but the surges on uber are connected to each service

what pisses me off is this new trend for customers to originally add a large tip of say 5-10 dollars, so the order looks appealing for drivers. Then once the order is delivered and complete, they change the tip to 1 dollar.

I agree. It is a bait and trap sceme. Pisses me off too. Anytime, I see an delivery with $10 or higher, I always worry I'm going to be tipped less. But I still accept the delivery. This was happening ALOT over the summer, but over the last two months I've only had it happen about three times.

Denver UE driver here, shop n pay, much like Apple/Wal-Mart orders have great payouts, I get the amount offered, whereas, with restaurant deliveries, I only get a portion of the offered amount so for me, I tend to do a lot of shopnpay, as many Wal-Mart or Apple deliveries as the tips are higher. Again that may just be me but it's true so far

I've been driving for Uber for about six years, and for Ubereats exclusively for the past three. I agree with you about the order and pay. You're not going to make any money spending twenty minutes shopping for somebody in a Walgreens. Restaurants aren't too bad, but since you ordered it, you have to wait for them to cook it. I disagree with you about how much you should make per hour. That would be different depending on the economy in your area. If I average $20 per hour, I feel I had an excellent day.

So if you're getting a "guaranteed" amount by Uber Eats like $255 for 30 deliveries. You should go for no more than 5.6 miles per delivery if you want $1.5 per mile?

0:59 facts..this happens to me when I deliver orders for TGIF Fridays, it comes up as another name Conventional Chicken Wings or something. I kept getting lost missing turns I finally called the restaurant and to my surprise they answered Fridays when I called that's when I figured out it was a TGIF Fridays lol.

I'm new to Uber but I find that I can out drive Ubers directions/GPS. For instance: I get off a freeway and have a choice at a light to go straight, turn left or turn right. Uber shows straight. at the light, in traffic, it now says turn left. The cure, for me, is look up your destination address and go to google maps instead. I've even wound up in a huge parking lot when I should be 2 blocks away. Frustrating. Just a heads up that may help.

Hi great video very informational, I had a question ive been doing uber eats for about a week now part time just to earn some extra cash and its been going alright but I've not encountered these surge areas you mentioned. On the map it does show me arrow that mark the busy areas and they turn darker the busier they are but it doesnt mention anything about paying extra. Any idea why this is? thanks

Hi Mike thanks for all the the tips . I've been driving a week or so and find the Uber app will cunningly and constantly take me out of my zone and then I find I'm dropping orders in the middle of nowhere , miles fromy zone it will have you delivering orders on the moon if you let it . Do you advise staying in zone and declining other orders or pausing the app after drop off until your back in zone ? What's your take on this please ?? Thanks
@David61026
@David61026 Год назад
Well you didnt get a reply from mike but personally it all depends on how high a mile/cash it is. If it takes you into the middle of nowhere with no businesses you basically have to drive back to a new business zone and if you don't know the business zones that well you have to drive back to the one you were in. In that case double the miles and ask is this delivery still 2.00 a mile or whatever bar you set to accept your deliveries. if not don't accept but if it was a really lucrative delivery then it is worth it to take the hit

I am curious what is the creator’s driver rating at Uber Eats, Blue Gold Platinum, Diamond ? Doesn’t declining all these deliveries take away your rating, since you must maintain a high acceptance rate ? Also curious what is the creator’s acceptance rate ? 10%, 30% or more ? Is it preferable to sacrifice your rating to turn down lots of poor paying deliveries ? Seems like you must turn down the majority of deliveries to get to the better miles to pay ratio of $1.50-$2,00+/mile deliveries ?

My risk is the opposite usually, I refuse Wendy's, and dislike McDonald's in shadyside, I felt like it was slow so I took a McDonald's, ended up waiting 20 min, I was standing in front of the cashier and I was invisible, and when I did talk to someone it wasn't even started yet

For me it depends on the order. Yesterday the Walgreens Shop & Pay was 1 item and paid $14 for 2 miles. So I would say review it before you let it go.

Thanks for this. I hate it when I get like a $20 KFC order or something along those lines, get to the restaurant, and get told that they don't have the order, other people tried picking it up before me, and I need to cancel. If it were DD, I would get $10 half pay for compensation. But UberEats only gives me $3 or $4 every time I have them cancel an unfinishable order. On my app surge pay is not in "+$" format, but instead shown in multipliers. The highest I've seen is like 2.5 or 3x. Also, I've never seen or heard of "Quests." Do you need to opt-in or are these iPhone only or something?

Can you make an updated uber eats video for 2023 if possible? Me and my friend do it together. I am the passanger and we know about the first rule but I'm thinking maybe we should try to get those deals when they have them. We usually go to the Anaheim, Whittier, Fullerton, Brea, etc CA areas. Some areas are slower then others. We have gotten Walmart orders to which weren't so bad because it's not only him getting the orders. I'm thinking maybe we should do more of these orders.
