So your selling your data for crypto. Geo location, maintenance record, driving behavior, etc. who is buying this data from Dimo is my question. Are my driving habits going to end up in the manufacturers hands so when I show up for warranty, they say I have been driving my vehicle in a manner that they can no longer support my warranty??? This got my interest but my curiosity about the information they pay for is a bigger interest into how they make money from that information.
Most all new cars, last 3 ish years automatically send this info to the manufacturer. Anyone that uses a simular device from insurances companies for a "safe driver discount" also sends this data to insurances companies. Both auto manufacturers and insurance companies ect, including shops that plug into cars to do diagnostics collect and resell that data. The difference is DIMO will give you something of value for it whereas just like FB, Google and all tech oligarchy give you nothing. Cheers
