Honestly, one of the most underrated British car youtube channels. No rubbish, just pure entertainment. One recommendation though, maybe more uploads? I'd say 2 a week?
Love the content! The 7 series is definitely a sleeper. Got a 745Li with me which I'm maintaining and taking care of her in good condition. It's been 6 years with her already, had to replace alot of expensive parts, but boy is she a great car. The 7 series is like an all In one car, and so much fun to drive and super comfortable for long journeys. And I like this generation, especially the pre-facelift one for it's unorthodox looks. I feel the styiling is timeless and still modern, it just grows on you.
Hi Joel, I loved the video, thank you very much. I’ve been driving BMWs since 1993 and and the most reliable was a year 2000 E38 728i Sport bought with about 20,000 miles in 2004 and I took it to almost 100,000 with very few faults. I think the Sevens have the best build quality. I’ve had 3s, 5s, 7s and an 840 which I’d be happy to discuss with you sometime. I was wondering if the engine overheat warning you got on the autobahn turned out to be anything serious? To be honest, I was just waiting to hear a gong for something when you were really pushing it hard. Those V12s are an endangered species. My advice is to hold on to it as long as you can as I regretted letting go of the 540 and 840 V8s that I had. One just doesn’t get that enjoyment in the modern cars. Many thanks again, James
that’s a really amazing car, like a business aircraft interior but should be no surprise if we think of the purpose of the car and how much money it cost when it was new. then a 3l engine would have been decent but no, you can get a v12 😳, basically a supercar engine
I feel blessed. In one year I've owned a 2016 Lincoln mkz 3.7 (mustang cyclone engine), Lincoln mark viii (cobra V8), 2013 dodge charger rt, 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 (429hp) and now a 2007 bmw 760li v12. What a year! My other car currently is a hybrid 😂😂
Yeah, it really is. I just got a 2007 with the v12 tonight. I'll make some videos. It looks like a normal beamer haha. My exhaust seems loud to by the way people react to it on the road. Floor it and it sounds exotic like a supercar ❤️
Great videos and love the channel. I can't see that 7 series lasting much longer before something major goes bang its deffiently been abused and been used for stuff it was never designed for
Excellent video Joel. Thanks so much. If you fancy a 24 hour road trip then how about coming to Kyiv to visit me and my 760li and CL500. It is about a 26 hour non-stop ride. If you are double vaxxed you don't need any tests on arrival to Ukraine. You only need your passport, vax cert, a complete V5 and a driving licence in case you are stopped. I could come to meet you at the Poland/Ukraine border post in my 760li at Dorohusk near Chelm in Poland and then drive with you to my place in Kyiv. Alternately I would fly to UK to travel with you to Kyiv. PS - you need a UK sticker since 28th Sept and not a GB one ...
Great content, really enjoy these road trip videos. Funny watching Ben's face while casually hitting high numbers on the autobahn. Like all your work Joel. Keep em coming. 👍
Joel, I'm jealous, there's no legal road for me to push my 760LI like that on this side of the pond - would love to though -- nothing accelerates at highway speeds quite like our V12 limos....
Interesting video. I'm hoping to do a similar trip next year myself. I think since you did this video the requirement for a GB sticker may have changed to UK sticker.
Hi Joel. Ref your driving as far as possible in 24 hours I'd be interested to watch that. When I lived about 1.5 hours from the Eastern border of Poland with Ukraine/Belarus I could make it from Eurotunnel Calais terminal on a good run assuming light traffic on Antwerp or Berlin ringroad in 13-14 hours sharing the driving with my wife. That was before the Warsaw motorway section of A2/S2 was completed - which would take another 45 minutes off that total easy. Also you would head south from Warsaw to Lublin (which also has a recently completed motorway section) then on to Chelm. Average speed about 75-80mph as I'm not a fast driver. In Poland you would take the direct West East A2 highway has a speed limit of 140kmph which you could comfortably push to 150-160 without trouble from police. You would easily make it to the Ukranian border if you're going for it on the long stretches of Autobahn in 12 hours. I would suggest going into Ukraine not Belarus as there are no visa issues assuming you have UK passport. Prob best undertaken after COVID as you would require COVID tests etc which is a bore. Then you would buy insurance from a little hut near the border in Ukraine and continue on. The question is could you make Kiev... My Dad is attempting a one way trip from Kiev to London in a 760li and he is budgeting around 24 hours. I'll post back how he got on.
Very unlikely - the computer buses in these cars are proprietary, and some are unique to this V12 which makes them rare too. The bmw computers monitor literally every component of the car and you can see thousands of measurement results when you plug the car into a compatible scanner, many of the sensors also include their own self test reporting back to the computer the health of the sensor, not just the measurements - very overengineered! Transplanting this N62 engine would have the complexity of a human brain transplant.
Great stuff Joel.. great content.. luv the v12..Li.. did u straight through from seperate headers or 2 to one tail pipe ? It does sound awsome but drive around on tickover if you haven't already tried it .. stra8ght trough both sides ,then when shit hits the fan So does a real v12 sound kick in ..
It reminds me - sort of - of when I was in a V12 manual XJS on then newly opened dual carriageway bit of the A34 between Oxford and the M40 in 1989. I was doing *cough* 130 or so and caught the attention of a white Vauxhall Senator with an orange stripe down the sides and a siren. Only one thing you can do when you're 22, and that's 150. I got away with that one. Anyway, good effort.
I've watched u since 4k subs but god damn u should grow way faster. UR SO UNDERRATED!!!! Best youtuber ever, and no i'm not his cousin or i'm not a bot i'm just an honest person
Joel, have you any idea how to get into this car when its battery is flat? I have one of these, I think an ex corporate fleet car as it has 270,000 miles on it and it totally drained its battery and locked me out, the key barrels barely turn...
Im in South Africa iv been driving beama 5 series from e28 535i e34 535i and ended up in e39 528i which gave me headache but not as my customised e46 318i that car was evil and money pit. The 7 series i once roll in it with my machanic technology ahead of it time vary brute and gentle at the same time.
24h driving challenge is nothing when u have friends that all drive. i live in luxemburg and once a year we go on vacation in montenegro that's where i'm from and its nearly a 1.900km drive and we drive without any rest or pause. 24h challenge should be easy trust me.
Evening Joel, 24hr drive suggestion mate. U mentioned Russia so how about Chernobyl🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. Be interesting lol. Good video mate I will get to the ring at some point.
@it's joel Just watching this; great video... One thing I've noticed is that your clusters are staying lit, doesn't that mean the stat's failed and the engine isn't getting up to temp? Only going off prior experience with an 06 E65 730D; in which the cluster never went to black as it wasn't getting up to temp
Can anyone tell me, how much did the car cost? It was a while ago so can’t remember. Watched Bens video, looked like great fun - now time to watch this 😁
