I’ve been to Okeechobee during the Thanksgiving Holiday and Holiday Weekend back in 2008 which was an awesome place especially going on to Lake Okeechobee and seeing the different wildlife and seeing the alligators was a mind blowing experience. Nice town which Okeechobee would the perfect place for me to relocate and live
My hometown is Naples and I use to hear good things about Okeechobee all the time but I never really went there because it was a long drive out there but I always heard nothing gbit bad things about Belle Glade on the south east side of the lake
I remember when I moved to Florida our house was a 4bd 2bath on a corner lot with a 2 car garage for 105grand that was 1996. Edit: I moved out of Florida in 2009 after the jobs died out
was there in the mid early 80s help run a bowling ally there .They would set the kane on fire and MILLIONSand Millions of rabbits would take over the land like a carpit of moving rabbits, rats mice everywhere .One time we stopped at a small convience store and there was a fleetwood caddie with the whole family including the dog LIVING in it .They would catch up to unspecting cars on the back roads and through a spackel bucket of water on poor people as they were driving and they would crash or pull over to get robbed by the caddie family Also the chain gangs were a pleasent surprise along the back roads Glad im back in NYLI
Apple Bees came when they built the hotel so I’m assuming it’s mainly for those from out of town. It’s such a poor place to live and doesn’t offer public transportation for low income residents to actually get to a job without walking
