Driving too close to horse riders 

What a pathetic horse rider. She obviously hates all cars even when they driver slowly and carefully past her. If she has a problem with that sort of driver she really should not be on the road herself.

The car wasn’t going that fast and tbh the horses didn’t seem that bothered

If your horse is so twitchy don't take them on the road, I always find riders never pull in to let cars go past

The car was driving as slow and as far away as possible and at the end of the day it’s a road made for cars

The taxi driver puts his car as close to the haystack as possible. What do you want? Should the taxi driver get out of the car and bow to you at a 90-degree angle, finally the driver has been leading your horse to your destination?

It's these types of horse riders I hate. They went slow. As wide as they could. It's a country line. They can't go that's wide. Stop complaning and abusing people because they went past you

I under stand that sometimes you have to ride on the road because I ride horses on the road to but you should only ride them on the road if you absolutely have to do it other wise don't. It's not worth risking it. Also yes I agree some cars go to fast and some cars are to cl9se to the horse but beside the road was lots of farm land to ride on, you had other options.

I LOVE horses but It’s 2021, we’re almost ready to fly vehicles we’re not expected to see horses running around on a ROAD designed for CARS ...PUT your horse on a horse TRAIL not a road..

That car did everything it could in my eyes. It seems to me that you just don't like cars driving on the same road as you. That road is clearly very narrow and the car took its opportunity and passed quietly and slowly giving as much room as possible. Might I add this is all before you move in the middle of the road...

I found that the drivers listened more when I was ridding a pony but when they went past my friend and her slot bigger horse they just flew past

If your horses are they timid why even let them on public roads. They are a threat to motorists and other road users. They should be kept inside a farm

The car was both slow and as far right as possible. I've ridden horses in the middle of traffic, and this is absolutely bening behaviour from the driver. If your horse can't handle it maybe you should stick to the corral, or accustom the horses to cars. Or get a grip on your hormones. That works too, as the horses seemed quite calm.

Okay, i understand you but the one in the taxi was going slow and i barely heard the car, he did everything right so there is no use of doing that, i am a equestrian and still i dont really agree with this, i understand horses can spook from fast cars or close cars, but dont overreact normally horses are trained for this event.

Couldn't see a problem here, car slowed down and went past as far over as possible and moved on. Woman on horse whinges for the next ten minutes, loves the sound of her own voice!!

Move over to the left side of the road more and you could of been happier and he could of got pass you easier. Also the horses didn't care a single bit

If you can't/won't train a horse to deal with cars, then you should ride them on roads. Simple as.

Why ride on such small roads? Why not ride in the fields

They think they own the road. Riders do

Just ride them on the fields where they belong, or train them to cope with fast and close moving cars

Just to put it out there, yes BOTH the rider and the driver did things wrong! I am an proud equestrian and I make sure I am kind and say thank you to everyone whether they are walkers/dog walkers/ cyclist/motorcyclist or drivers. To be frank I don't care whose on the road or paths as long as everyone's being safe towards each other! Yes the driver could have been more patient and waited for the riders to turn in but the riders weren't exactly nice to him either!!! Them shouting at him after they driven away and complaining about him isn't gonna do anything apart from scare their own horses!!!! Drivers have a right to country lanes no matter how narrow! We as horse riders should be grateful that they even built off road and quieter lanes otherwise we couldn't get to bridle paths at all! And yes drivers have tax and insurance but so do horses and as much as some people dislike horse also have EQUAL right! Not more Not less! So the best we can do is driver be a bit more patient and just go even if it's 5MPH slower and riders just say calm and use your bloody manners and say thank you! It's not hard! Just to put things to rest I have my own horse and I have slot of experience on the roads however I prefer to ride my horse in a local wood at the back of where I keep my horse, which have dirt bikes, cyclists and all sorts! And I've never had someone call me out on the public paths or bridleways because I was polite and said my please and thank you! All drivers want is a bit of respect and I would want me to show that same respect. Whereas I have had a drive zoom past me and my horse honking their horn and revving their engine and I don't actually care. I know I'm kind and safe on the roads when I am on them and I can't change others actions by shouting and complaining about them (which these riders did wrong instead of comforting their horses) Anyway I want to thank anyone who reads this and hopefully you will take this in next time you encounter and driver or horse 🙂

I don’t see what the problem is. The car seemed like they passed in a prudent manner. A little slower? Probably. But the car wasn’t reckless.

I always give way to horses even turn my bike engine off but horses shouldn’t be on the roads stay in the fields where they belong not a tarmac road

all this is true and sorry to say it still is in the highway code and the law on this will never change but as the years hav gon on cars hav got bigger faster bigger trucks boy racers more moterbikes going faster not slowing down and to top it all a horse rider will never be in full control of there horse not matter how good thay think thay are and yes i do ride and i dont go on the road if i can help it and i do ride motobikes and 4x4 as well and giv as much room as i can just take care think befor you go on the roads and be safe you can lead a hores to water but you cant make it drink it

You are riding too close to a public highway, if you don't like cars then get of the roads. We do not come on your fields.

I find horse riders very rude and arrogant. I stopped for a horse rider cause she was riding in the middle of the road and she said that she heard a car coming so went in the middle of the road. How stupid can you be to do that ? She then had the audacity to call me a ‘stupid f*****g cow’. Nice

The roads are made for motorised vehicles, not for horses.
