This drone footage was captured on March 5th 2019 off the coast of San Diego, California. This was the first time I have ever seen a humpback whale feeding aggregation in San Diego waters. The vast majority of our humpback whale sightings involve whales that are merely passing through. While we do see whales occasionally grab a snack if it's available, to see as many as twenty whales lunge feeding on the surface is simply something we do not see virtually ever in San Diego!
