Could u theoretically hook up the phone in the Mask2 to a regular DJI RC2 or even RC-N2 controller? USB-C to HDMI cable (then HDMI to USB-C if needed again). Since you can connect a tv like that, surely u can connect a phone like that without actually flying with the goggles. So she'd be flying her own non-fpv drone, controller hooked up to her phone, phone in the Mask2, Mask2 on her face? Not as good quality, but hell of a lot cheaper than getting the Goggles2 + FPV Controller (since RC2 and RC-N2 wont connect to goggles, stupidly).
Absolutely mesmerized by the breathtaking landscapes of Norway captured in this video. Thank you so much for sharing this use case and experience with us!
Great video, man! My spotter always has to crouch down when I give her the goggles to review and that it mostly AFTER the flight, mind you. 😁 Very genuine reaction!!! 👍
You got such a beautiful landscape there. How fast is the Helion10 max speed? Just built an 11" drone with 3215 motors and gemfan 1170 props on 8S. I'm kinda dissapointed with that build. The top speed is only 140kmh and flight time is 11min on a 5400mah 8s lipo. 2,3kg AUW. Not sure if those props are inefficient or the ESC settings are bad. It flys well, no issues. Just all I hoped to get out of an 11" build didnt work out. I could get over less top speed, but the flight time is really bad. Don't think better ESC settings will more than double the flight time. Got to try 10" props next. Maybe you have an Idea.
I did the same with my gf... but using a micro on analog. First thing was a couple of powerloops/matties followed by a dive of a big tree. She ended up with a headache... Lesson's learn, go cruising next time 😄
Nice flight, awesome location. You could let her fly her mini 3 pro with the g2 goggles, would need the motion controller which offers an ‘fpv’ flight style or do the normal controller ‘trick’. Not quite the freedom of full acro but a lot easier for a beginner.
