Chinese people buy and use iphones, they aren't concerned of the US spying on them. But the US is concerned with their drones spying on the US. I don't get it. Double standards.
No actually! This is right. We are way more advanced than the Chinese in ever way possible, so don’t need to spy on them. But on the other hand, china will do whatever. Just watch some channels that criticize the Chinese government(also are banned from stepping foot in china or who knows might disappear without a trace if they do. As I recall, there was an incident in China, where the people died, and the family was asking question, but the government said to sign a paper and never ask question ever again, and then they paid them
@@thunkjunk fair enough, so tell the lazy slob American drone manufacturers to get off their asses and start competing. Outlawing all competition in order to create a monopoly is not how the free market works. Wait, wait, I forgot, it's politically incorrect now to say "free market" and even "capitalism" because even one of our current presidential candidates keeps crying that globalism is evil. Which is the same thing Jinping and Putin also say. It's literally like they are all colluding or something. lol
No, that was just a viral twitter meme. I mean Chinese companies own stuff all over the world some of it's based in the U.S., but the meme said we "allowed" them to buy more land than our govt. owns or some BS like that.
Yes actually they did. This is not what they are making it look like. Theres so much to this. Dji is owned by Chinese government in real life. Our Government is in with them. People really haven’t done their homework. Dji along with our own government is evil as hell.
We really need to look at this for what it actually is. Skydio, an American drone manufacturer that makes a heavily inferior product lobbying against a company that has done the work to actually become good. Idiotic politicians who literally have no idea how technology works but pray and subscribe to their racism, hate, paranoia, and xenophobia against another country they point the finger towards acting as if they arent doing the same things they're projecting on to them. The thing that's irritating and frustrating about all of this is the fact that they're entitlement, arrogance, and power they have (but absolutely dont deserve) have made it so that they feel that they can make decisions without any input from the people they are supposed to work for, those people being us. I know next to nothing about whether this can happen, but I'm wondering if there can be some company that could represent drone pilots and file a class action lawsuit or something along those lines.
As the law and FCC list are worded, all products already approved before February 2023, will still be able to be purchased and flown - if I read it correctly (as a trained lawyer with federal legal experience) However, I am concerned about firmware update Arguably, that's "new." Either way, it is not good.
That's the least of my worries, I quit updating my firmware on my Mavic Pro like in 2018 and my Pro 2 Enterprise a couple years ago, when I discovered No Limit Drones and Drone Hacker, you can put any firmware you want on there, signal boost, speed boost, actually do a PID tune on your DJI drone, turn off nagging notifications and set all kinds of your own parameters, it's great!!
As far as I know, china has a law that requires any company to hand over any data on request; they have no protection for private data. I can see why the government would be worried about a potential enemy nation's ability to activate mobile cameras throughout the country through a possible back door. The fact that the drones were sending data in the first place to Dji means there is potential for control to be taken away with any firmware update. That being said, the benefit is likely limited, and it will not take long to find out and get the news out that it has happened.
This is horrible news. I got with me the dji mini 4 pro and i love it for what it is. 😢 Hopefully this ban will not be followed through by other countries
It only made it through the Rules Committee for consideration and debate by the HASC. It has a long way to go to get approved. It would still need to be voted on by the entire House, approved, then approved by the Senate, and not vetoed by the President. In an election year? Nope.
this is not about spying by ccp. this is about how effective these cheap little drones have been in Ukraine. anyone that has watched the decades long effort to strip americans of rights that ensure we always have a government that answers to the people the reasoning behind this ban is pretty clear to see. this will pass eventually. and if they cant ban it outright they will place financial prohibition methods in place. just like they did with our fire arms.
Its late July and we now know 2864 did not make it through to adoption. But, you can bet Rep Stefanik and her GOP buddies will be back next year to try again. And, it should be noted this is largely an issue of the "drone industry" cannibalizing itself. 2864 was basically a thing only because lobbyists for Skydio made it a thing. Skydio hired a former aide to Stefanik to make it a thing.
They better do a buy back then! At least 3/4 of the price you paid. And offer a suitable replacement at 3/4 of the retail price. I doubt there is a suitable replacement, especially for the ag drones, thats made in the usa.
Maybe some envy from US government? Government don't want free market? Always want to restrict. There's no technology vs. price of DJI available on the market, even for us that have the Part 107 Certificate cannot buy a Made in USA drone because of it price compared with the sane technology of DJI.
They’re not partnered in America. They have an American company producing them in Malaysia with a license from DJI. Unknown if the entire backend server infrastructure is being duplicated outside China or their control.
Don't even bother fighting it it won't make any bit of difference I promise they will just look at whatever you sign throw it in the trash and move forward anyways
I live in elise distric, we hate her and she isnt "red" for the upstat NY that is. Upstate NY is right of democrat, we have gay bars and little issue with anything, infact voted top10 most tolerant part of the us the same year we had top 10 most drunk town in the US. Anything that can shock us (mist are 45-85 up here) makes them vote I hate it here
DJI never got out ahead of this problem and sat on their hands and did nothing! They had no concern for their customers period. So if it happens no one is to blame except DJI period! You can blah blah blah about this issue all you want but the problem will not go away! DJI was the solution but they did nothing!
With all the past bans they have attempted on DJI, yea they should have been WAY more pro active. When Skydio was busy lobbying against DJI, they also should have been there. Agree they can’t play the victim card as this just didn’t happen over night. Seems there have been bills against DJI for at least 4 years now.
USA would have no problem with DJI if it weren't beholden to the CCP. You know the CCP is anti-American and that we're in a cold war similar to the Soviet Union except China has a much larger economy and is more formidable.
Great content. My question..Why is it radio silence on all the popular drone RU-vid channels? Im guessing because most of them are sponsored by DJI and make a lot of money on referral links so they don't want to let people realize that buying a new DJI drone is probably a very very bad idea right now.
Yall saying all these people don’t know what they’re talking about. But do Yall know what goes behind to the national cyber security team daily bases????? I think this is the right move!
The lack of any factual info in this video is just silly. The firmware update rolled out on the 12th, the first of two addressing the issue. And the bill ( H.R. 8070 ) is in committee, and will remain there for some time, as of today they made it to amendment 47, and was tabled as unfinished business. Once it makes it out of committee in the house, it will go for markup in the senate, and IF it makes it thru both of those it would then go to the house then senate for votes. Considering who tabled the CCP portion, its unlikely to make it thru the senate as the democrats will be very resistant to giving stefanik a win on anything.
I mis-read DJI’s firmware update for the ‘No Flight Record Sync’, that did come out a couple of days ago. As for the HR 2864 Bill that has passed the Congressional Committee by a 57-1 vote and is off to the Senate. Sounds like HR 2864 is getting attached to the NDAA 25 (Nat. Defense Auth. Act) and those typically pass no questions asked. There is also the DFR act that I believe is still in Congressional Committee. May have gotten a couple of points mixed up but all in all my info is straight from news sources 🍺
It went straight into the NDAA which passed yesterday. The FCC bit means it will be illegal to use the radios. Your DJI drone will still fly, you will just be doing it illegally. There is mountains of evidence that DJIs flight apps send data. This has been 7 years in the making.
