Today, we report how the latest Ukrainian strikes inside Russia can be seen from space and discuss a bipartisan congressional paper that says the US should fundamentally revisit the post-Cold War status quo in its relations with Russia.
Zelenskyy is doing the best he can under the circumstances. Churchill faced an uphill battle trying to get support from the US and even then there were people in the US that wanted to stay out and probably sided with Hitler, though they'd deny it later. That element remains, probably everywhere as we see the rise of the right. There was never any chance for Zelenskyy to get much out of Washington at this time. People being what they are will turn against a leader quickly because sometimes expectations are unrealistic. Putin looks strong but it's only the conditions that make him strong and the apathy of an arrogant brainwashed elecorate. They think russia is the greatest nation on earth and are fated to fulfil their destiny. As though we haven't heard that from so many leaders of other nations in the past.
Bravo, the USA as all western allies has that element that just don't understand what is at stake. Here in Australia we have the same mentality and piss poor politicians that need to step up and support Ukraine that is holding back the evil criminal regime that controls the Russian people and the rest of the world to ransom.
24:50 "Americans are wondering why 750 million Europeans rely so much on 330 million Americans..." It's because America's factories and farmlands weren't bombed into rubble and ruin during WW2. Yeah. That's pretty much most of the reason. Europe had to rebuild from the ground up, and tens of thousands of acres of farmland and industrial land is STILL uninhabitable in France to this day because of the munitions in the ground. America only ever had its toe stubbed in Hawaii- the factories on the mainland never so much as had their windows rattled so American industry never had to pause.
The ads aren't great, but I'm more surprised about how mealy-mouthed djt was even after agreeing to meet with zelensky. I have been critical of Biden with how he and the national security adviser have handled aid rollout (slowly), but he's "I was suggesting we bomb Serbia" Biden compared to the Republicans. The lies are suffocating enough that even my more right-leaning relatives have swapped their votes to Harris.
The US has benefitted from that dependency and has called in its favours on various occasions. US can't have it both ways - they can't be both the leaders of the world, the strongest and most prosperous with their currency as the standard, and be isolationist by leaving its allies when needed. The argument is false. More spending is required bu Europe but where are most of the weapons produced? Who pays for their protection when US bases are in their countries?
The problem isn't that they exist, but how they're handling them. Started airing them without warning the users. Right at the beginning. No lead-in. No explanation. No leadout. No transition point on the timeline. Just... out of the blue.
@@karenrobertsdottir4101 I know! I thought there was something wrong with the video! Well, they gotta pay the bills like everybody else. This is the best Ukraine coverage out there so I’ll bear the ads.
We cannot speak of Europe in the same way we speak of the US. Europe has an EU andnlook how difficult it is to get any decisions made. The US is the largest single democracy whereas Europe is many nations with various forms of government and though similar, quite different histories. If the US wants to abdicate their position they will have a real problem both economically and geopolitically. I do not understand why leaders in the US find this so difficult to understand. Independence is good but we are co- dependent because of trade. All our lives have been improved by international trade. No country can produce everything on its own, even russia. Europe is US strongest tracing partner.
I decided I like the adds at the beginning. Get them out of the way, and move onto the content. I appreciate that I always know I can skip to 1:30 also. Thanks, UTL team. This is WAY better than 20 youtube commercials randomly popping in. EDIT: never mind... theres still a bunch of adds...
Concerning the opening remarks of this report: *_Ukrainian Pravda:_* Sunday September 29th, 2024 Satellite image shows missile arsenal in Russia's Volgograd oblast intact following Ukrainian drone strike. Oopsie.
Everyone needs to chill out and learn to use the fast forward if its that big of a ordeal. Absolutely pathetic, people are getting shelled in thier beds, and your delicate ears can't withstand a preroll ad.
Don't damage the podcast with these dreadful ads. Offer a voluntary subscription option, I'd pay $5/month to keep this going, and I'm sure others would too.
Imagine London during WII when the Germans are about to fly over: First 2 commercials through the speakers, followed by the air raid sirens.... premium youtube down the drain
i dont understand why the humans even consider killing each other, let alone amass and fight gigantic merciless horrible wars. i have resigned from humanity as we know it today.
Can a deal be reached wheteby all territories held should be surrender ed to the UN and both parties withdraw their forces. Use it as a buffer zone and Ukraine goes with the the remaining parts of her territory to NATO. Both to provide funds to administer the buffer zone?
What is wrong with China providing weapons to Russia when the West is doing the same to Ukraine? If both Russia and Ukraine are supported by their ideological geo political friends let the party go on...
The difference is that the ruzzian invasion of Ukraine is patently illegal, immoral and genocidal. That's why almost every free nation has imposed sanctions on ruzzia and those supporting ruzzia. If China wants to get slapped with sanctions, that's its choice. But ruzzia represents only 2% of China's markets; the US, UK, Oz/NZ and EU constitute the vast majority of China's export markets. Chmn. Xi can't afford to be cut off from them.
Fair enough, the west can put sanctions on China as well in that case and we’ll see where that ends up. China doesn’t want to die on Putin’s hill, hence why they are trying to avoid it.
It's "StormSHADOW". Britain is willing to allow SS strikes into Russia, but USA has a controlling position in NATO and is able to block this (which it is likely gona continue to do at least until the election). Annoyingly this makes strategic sense, even if we imagine the USA policy is and remains pro-Ukraine.
The grouping of some warmongers losing their destiny just as Ukraine is losing the war. I imagine them like some mad Chihuahuas barking at everything that moves outside their gates.
Today, Russia is celebrating the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye region, and Kherson region with the Russian Federation...
