Very useful. You mentioned that the DJI mini 4 pro doesn’t have a landing light. It has an auxiliary light that comes on at night for landing if set to auto.
Most drones have proximity sensors for landing which work in pitch darkness (even my 2017 DJI Spark had this), the landing lights on drones like the Mini 4 Pro are only required for precision landing (to land within a few inches of the take off point). Separately, since practicing and perfecting hand launching and landing, I never do anything else as it allows you to stretch your hand overhead, giving good clearance to any nearby head (including your own) and landing safely even with a curious cute doggy jumping at your leg :)
Hi I wonder if you can help me. I am new to the hobby only owning my Mini3 pro since August. I was on holiday near Newark the other week and a temp NFZ appeared on Done Assist. I was outside the area by 200-300m, I did fly since I was outside the area. How close can you fly to a NFZ ? Many thanks
Thanks for the comment. You can fly upto the edge of a Flight Restricted Zone, however how much margin do you need to be sure you’re not wandering into the zone? Also be sure that you don’t get caught out by one of DJI’s ‘phantom’ geozones. It might be worth you watching my ‘3 ways DJI maps could cost you your drone’ video
It’s so easy to make the mistake! I’m sure I did see that DJI updated the uk maps to actual UK airspace, but when I checked again it reverted back. Let’s hope that will update soon
