3.5 is definitely mellower than a 5.1 if it bites you though.

I mean… the 3.5” will still cut, but there is a HUGE difference in mass and speed between that and a 5”.

@@rilijn it also just won't cut as badly, I've seen people being bitten hand launching with a 3.5 and a 5; with a 3.5 you can almost get lucky sometimes that it doesn't cut you at all, that's pretty unlikely with a 5inch it usually fucks you up. Let's think about it properly; a 5inch weighs like double the weight if not more than a 3.5 most cases, which means a 5inch usually has at least double the thrust (power) to lift it... thus it's likely to be at least twice as bad if it's blades hit you whilst the throttle is up.

I agree there is no way a 5" could take out a plane, maybe right in an engine? but any mid air collision the drone would be toast.

@@BOTGRINDER Yeah, meanwhile that's one of the narratives used to seriously limit the options for recreational rc flight. Whether quadcopter, or a foam glider, anything above 250g is starting to become subject to excessive restrictions. And if equipped with a camera, even when below that weigh limit. Crazy...
