Aerial drone flying over Winnemucca, Nevada provided great views of this small Nevada city. I enjoyed the mountains in the background.
I hope you enjoy and subscribe to this RU-vid drone channel while seeing my travels from an aerial view above nature, towns and cities in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, US, Canada, and several islands @ / jamesbebop . Or please visit my photo website with photos of 49 countries/islands, all 50 states and all but one province in Canada that I could not drive through at www.JGlowacki.com . I love to drive throughout the world whether on the right or left with either left-hand steering or right-hand steering and of course I have become accustomed to using a stick-shift with both hands :) I truly enjoy the great food and discussions with locals where I have been blessed to travel. Included on this channel are some driving and snorkeling videos and even a couple bike rides I recorded.
You can also see my beginning drone videos looking at 2016 dates when I filmed in safe nature areas. I practiced how to crash safely, how to fly with three propellers and how to ground the drone and drive to it. I practiced in snow, rain and extreme cold to make sure I understood the drones limitations before I went to the big cities. I handle a drone like I do a gun and I truly hope others do the same.
Please share your thoughts with me; even if they are not easy to read, I need to know how I am meeting your expectations 😊
Thank you,
James

I lived in Winnemucca in the 50s.. Fantastic town. Population 3500, now 7500. Did not grow like other places in Nevada.. a good thing. My step father was the controller/auditor for the Sonoma INN. Winnemucca was originally known as Frenchman's Ford. A gathering place for western trappers. I have many stories as a kid growing up there. too bad others won't be able to enjoy it. Lots of old timers I mean born in the 1860s Nevada The Battle Born State. Only State in the Union Admitted during the Civil War. A special treat were the wonderful Basque people with their huge hearts, great food, and wonderful language. Lots of real cowboys, professional gamblers and "ladies" There was Ruby's.. Not telling.. but if you were there, you knew Ruby's .. no it was not a brothel, anything but. Rafting down the Humboldt in scrap lumber rafts, fishing for crawdads, hunting arrowheads, picking choke cherries, cutting Junipers for Christmas trees, swimming in the Ryepatch, exploring Paradise Valley, Star City, finding 16th century Spanish bridles, picking up pop and beer bottles and cashing them in for a penny each, all day Saturday at the SageTheater for a quarter, collecting scorpions at the dump, rock hunting especially turquoise, all summer at the public swimming pool at the Nixon Building, working at the Rodeo Grounds selling pop and popcorn, and then early in the morning about 4 AM going under the bleachers to scrounge dropped coins, riding Buck Shot Annie's cows and shot at with rock salt, riding our bikes all over creation, playing marbles "for keeps', making a soap box derby car using baby buggy wheels because we didn't have the 12 bucks for the official solid red wheels, shooting BB guns.. mine was a Daisy pump, having to drive all the way to Elko for a dentist visit, cruising the highways in my step father's 51 Pontiac Chieftain bright red convertible at 100 MPH, watching my mother slamming a punk's face into a plate of spaghetti at the Methodist church freebie night when he said he didn't like it, taking ukulele lessons from the all too hot music teacher, getting pulled on a snow sled with a rope tied to the rear bumper of our scout master's 50 Plymouth down the snowed over streets, living at 444 Mizpah, 510 West Hanson which was the last house to the west before the rodeo grounds, and our last house was a giant three story 1900 Victorian, putting pennies on the railroad tracks, jumping the train with our little buddies and jumping off in Battle Mountain and jumping the next west bound to get home, going up Water Canyon and finding Chief Winnemucca's ( there were 2 Chief Winnemuccas) campground and able to find a 1 pound coffee can of arrow heads in a single day, and lot lots more. The Chinese played a huge part in the early days having contributed greatly to the building of the railroad. Sadly the geniuses in the city council voted to tear down all of the original Chinese buildings, all standing when I lived there. That included a temple and a very large Joss House. A real shame. Enough for now, wish I could live there but I know it can never be the same.

Jeff, You provides some great history of the city and the area. I grew up about 2000 miles east a while later, but still remember doing a lot of what you mention. I think of how hard it must be for kids today who prefer electronics over living and being with others. I once had two employees setting in the same break room at the same table texting each other instead of talking. When will life come full circle so life can be more fun and less stressful for our youth. Thank you for sharing all of these details 😎 James

I stumbled across this town online while looking for for a place to move to from rain drenched south Louisiana. The west has always called to me, and I'm finally at a point where I think I want to answer that call. Your footage is absolutely incredible. I don't know a single thing about this town other than it looks absolutely beautiful and your footage has definitely inspired me to visit. Looks like I'm going to be a subscriber. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your precious mood and wonderment. The town is a very loving family oriented town and very loving and welcoming to strangers. Also, they have a big walmart for everybody is very friendly there since their CEO ,Doug McMillon, is taking care of them with love from the corporate office and higher pay.

Fun fact: People go on the W on the mountain and paint it for seasons or for holidays. Such as today the W is green for march and for spring.

I liked this video and the song as well. I have traveled most of the places in NV except the northwest corner of the state. Winnemucca looks bigger than I imagined.

I agree - I love mountains, canyons and animals so the north is usual better for me. You actually have a great area to ride horses a little west of you with some pretty canyons I have enjoyed. Stay safe!
