Building the new A14. - Now in 4K
This months drone flight over the new A14 construction site at Swavesey shows some significant progress, the site offices and accommodation look complete and some major groundworks are going on behind the service station.
I take an extended route this month, as the area of works has expanded considerably.
Each month I will fly the drone over the site as its hard to gauge the size and complexity of this project from the ground.Its scheduled to run until late 2020.

hi Jonathan, the Work on Boxworth Hill is one of the borrow pits. Basically they are extracting aggregates to be used solely on the A14 project.

+Simon Trigg ah that makes sense, assume when it's all done the hill will just be a few inches lower :-)

Another great vlog JT. Do you ever worry about drone failure and having to retrieve the device from a muddy field somewhere?

Thanks Peter, yes however I try not to think to hard about it, its a mechanical device if its going to fail its not going to happen when its sat in my bag :-) Usually when I take off I preform some test manoeuvres close to the ground and then fly up and hover for about 30 seconds just to get things tested, but nothings going to stop a sudden mechanical failure, but thats what insurance is for :-)
